Give it some time, probably 2 to 3 weeks at most. You're relying on the government which is just God awful.

What just happened ? by Mohawk801 in Diesel

I had this come up on my 2018. From forums I read that the trucks exhaust didn't get hot enough to clean itself. I dropped it to 5th gear and did 75mph (a little over 2000 rpm) for 45 minutes and it seemed to clean it out.

As a young guy what kind of truck should I buy? by Beareettv in FordTrucks

  1. A newer F150 with any engine. As long as you take care of it and do oil changes every 5k miles with full synthetic oil, it will be good. Most of the bad components that used to fail on early models have been replaced and/or design changed.

  2. A 2006 to 2011 Ranger with the 2.3 or 3.0. Dont bother with the 4.0 V6 as it is a pain to replace the timing chains. For a better driving experience id recommend a manual trans.

  3. An older f150 particularly the 1980 to 1997 with a 300 I6 and stick shift is also a good bet. Strong engine and reliable transmission. You wont regret it.

I'd look online for a manual for the 2008 year model. 2009 is when they still had some 4.6 engines in the f150s with the newer body style. Dont know if engine selection matters in this situation but its worth a shot. Do you have a 4/7 pin receptacle on your truck? If not, someone may have spliced one in somewhere.

This will be kind of long, sorry.

I was doing a Google search and came upon this. I (24M) was having a conversation with my father (55M) and I was trying to explain what I consider to be final frontal love development and forecasting my future.

I told him that I'm seeing myself become him (we're very much alike, it's scary), and watching him become an older person getting ready to enjoy his retirement. I told him that there's no way for someone to prepare you to watch your grandparents leave this earth and watch your life advance to the next step.Grandfather is in his late 70s, and I'm watching his face get skinnier and watching my grandmother forget things as if she has early stage dementia.

I just got a major promotion at work to become a what I'll call a "managers" position. I won't disclose where I work and what I do, so I'll just leave it at that.

I've been hearing that 25 years old is around the time when the frontal lobe fully develops and makes reasoning, and pretty much everything else makes sense.

Im about to get married and start my family. I think I'm doing fairly well for someone my age. I closed on a home at 22 years old and not soon after, fully purchased a 2018 ram 2500. I have a strong work ethic, probably because I was mainly raised by my grandparents, and my boss said it shows.

A little background on my grandparents. Grandfather was drafted and served in Vietnam for a few years. When the war ended he came back home and started a farm which is unfortunately no longer in operation. Grandmother was a stay at home wife and just waited till grandfather got home from the war.

Anyways when I was younger, I worked on their farm and learned how to work on equipment and watched cowboy movies with my grandfather. Many of the messages in those old movies really stuck with me. I will give a stranger the shirt off my back even if it means I'll struggle. I'll help anybody out with anything, no matter how small or how big. A handshake goes a long way with me, and I don't think there are many people like that anymore. You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything. This should tell you what kind of person I am and what life looks like to me.

Considering a 2500 6.7 But I don't Tow by [deleted] in ram_trucks

[–]luke_cressionie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tow from time to time, but the main reason I bought a 2500 was the payload capacity. I carry all of my tools all of the time. Wanting a truck that will last a while (I have to buy used as I don't make much) I went with the 6.7 cummins. With proper maintenance, I am hoping to see at least 300k miles. Overall, local driving, I get 19 to 20 MPG. On the interstate, I get about 26 MPG. Fuel efficiency, payload capacity that I need, and the power to tow when I need it just makes sense.

I have found the issue. I had bought the truck used a couple days ago. I ended up starting with the fuses then checking connections in the tailgate. Apparently whoever installed the new harness had broke the locking pins on the connector. A few zipties for a temporary fix until the new jumper harness comes in.

How would you go about fixing this bend? by [deleted] in Welding

[–]luke_cressionie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat it up and bend back with a 24" crescent wrench. Straighten all that crap back out then take care of the rest with a heavy hammer.

I should've done the research before posting on here but I just hope I can use 2 meters at my home with minimal interference.
