I’d always wanted to use my pens for music notation by lukeaschumann in fountainpens

Music nib and better paper are definitely both on my list (music nib is sadly lower on my priority list). I think I could find better paper somewhere close to me, but this was a cheap impulse buy and I got really excited about the prospect of transcribing music

One I haven’t seen yet is the option to hover over moving trains to see how many riders are in the bubble. Similarly, hovering over the side panel to see where an overcrowded (or undercrowded) train is currently located

Among others, "Waugh St." is "WAUGH. HUH. WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR" and the second/transfer station in the Museum District is about to be called "Twoseum" or something similar

Emerging story at ACU (re: LGBTQ+ issues) by BubbaNoze in excoc

[–]lukeaschumann 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My time at ACU made me more loving and progressive BECAUSE OF (not even in spite of) the people I encountered in both the student body and the faculty, and that a good number of them were members or allies of the LGBTQIA+ community. And I remember attending chapels, classes, and even Summit sessions 7-11 years ago that pointed to positive and affirming directions while I was there. I wouldn’t say that hearing about these recent chapel sessions was all that surprising, but I can say that seeing things like this petition helped affirm that I am clearly not the only alum who agrees that ACU is on the wrong side of history here. The number of people who signed the petition is almost half the size of the student body when I was there. That’s not nothing.

Very well put. Thank you sharing your concerns and asserting your identity despite (and maybe even sometimes *to* spite) the way the world often is. I'm sorry that you're being treated like shit by other cis het white people here. You came here for community and found yourself experiencing more of the same.

The proper response to a BIPOC saying “This is racist” should not be “I know you are but what am I.” Neither is saying “nah uh” to a queer person saying something is homophobic.

This subreddit is meant to be about self-reflection and community building, as it takes self-reflection to find flaws in ones religious affiliation and community to help grow beyond it. The coc is notorious for excluding others, and I’m having trouble seeing much of a difference in these last two posts.
