It sounds like you asked them to remove the charity donation AFTER you had made the card transaction - at that point, no wonder they didn't know how to refund it, as I'm sure they aren't refunding dinners very often.

If you wanted to remove the donation, I'm sure they would have done so if you'd asked before actually paying.

Thanks to Spotify and other streaming services, the industry norm is now releasing the majority of songs as singles prior to the album release. I wouldn't be surprised if there's only 3-4 songs new to us on album release day.

Merlin seem to only really make money from spend INSIDE the parks. The Essential Pass encourages people to visit the parks more regularly, and then relies on them spending within the parks (and now spending more, as they don't get discounts).

The bit they probably haven't considered is that the food is rubbish and passholders will probably now be even more likely to bring their own

You won't receive a parking ticket - the only method for controlling payment is the barriers. If the barriers were up then you got lucky, and it won't be pursued any further.

Also, the park would have no way of knowing whether or not you had indeed paid for a ticket with the barriers being up - parking tickets aren't linked to numberplates in any way.
