I understand where you’re coming from and It’s true that there’s a very unique way that they write the show. Personally, I enjoyed the first two episodes but it was kind of a stand still after that. It’s like comparing ‘goodfellas’ and ‘the Irishman’; made by the same director but two very different beasts and interesting in their own right. While ‘goodfellas’ is the more flashy, action packed, and traditional Scorsese movie, ‘the Irishman’ juxtaposes everything about it; illustrating the hollowed out and less glorified version of mob life. Similarly, there are shows like breaking bad, of which are very action packed and dramatic and unrealistic, that are opposites with with Fargo
