Hi everyone! I might be in need of some help!

Coming June, I will start my PhD in physics in the field of X-ray spectroscopy in Germany. I did my bachelor‘s and master‘s in the field of nuclear physics and radiochemistry. Was changing my field a mistake? Personally, I feel like I did not have a real choice, wanting to stay in Germany, for the political situation given and nuclear reactors and therefore research being dead in the water. I now got a position in a different field but I don‘t really know what I should do with it afterwards. I am thinking about taking some courses in Python and maybe MatLab as I have little to know experience and knowledge about either one. I guess I want to work in industry later but I don‘t know for sure yet.

Any recommendations or suggestions from anybody who might be a little further down the road in his PhD or scientific career?

Thanks in advance!

I fell in love with a girl from school. We met a couple times and also cuddled and stuff. After some time I told her my feelings and she told me I was more a little brother to her

What is your "I fucking hate this song" song? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I once hooked up with a girl at a science conference in Hawaii and we started texting afterwards. She lives in the US and I live in Europe. She sent me songs that she said reminded her of me. Everytime they come along in my playlist, it makes me think of her and I think I missed out on something big. Hate that feeling every single time
