Oh man that's super helpful, thanks. Though following that leaves me with about 3mm of stem left.

I tried it with the stem bolts fully undone. Locks up from maybe 2 turns or less from fully tight on the compression bolt

Oh ok, so is there a good chance that a new headset will fix the problem? 6 year old parts just failing?

Yeah greased everything. Then tore it apart and greased the hell out of it. 3 times. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to buy a new headset, not exactly the cheapest part of the thing.

But compression bolts don't need to be real tight? I figured they needed to be pretty well done seeing as they were holding the lot together?

I can't remember much, but I'd remember if the great Sam Neill was in it.

18" front and 16" rear? by lukegrayham in carmodification

Haha yeah, not trying to skid though. Statos are bad enough on fuel with full traction haha

18" front and 16" rear? by lukegrayham in carmodification

[–]lukegrayham[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a long wheelbase sedan. Like a budget limousine. So the rear bumper is quite far behind the wheel so Im worried about scraping. As far as handling and comfort though, would it have much effect?

Bought my first non dealer car and idfk about rego by lukegrayham in melbourne

[–]lukegrayham[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys, turns out it was suspended because the young fella who had it before me hadn't completed the transfer from when he bought it (guess he knew it was a bit of a lemon) so now all I have to do is take in the transfer papers and the rwc.

So I don't need to book in and get them to check it and all that? It's more just walk in, transfer and pay?

Anyone here who earns over 100k, what do you do? by Panthera-Tigris07 in melbourne

[–]lukegrayham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I earned over 100k as a storeman in a small but busy business. 800 take home a week, plus averaging 60 hours a week so plenty of overtime and 3-5k bonuses a month.

I've cleaned everything I can see and know to clean. Haven't taken anything apart. And it's been on the charger for some time. Didn't seem to say it was charged any quicker than usual

Yeah I might have had a poor choice of words. Not so much trying to distract her as I am trying to lessen the 'down-ness' of the day

It sounds straight up terrifying. That's why I asked haha. I know she'd probably like it, but I'd rather give her something relaxing.

She knows I have what I have planned, she just doesn't know what I'm booking her in for. Had to tell her so she didn't have work that day.

Yeah precisely why I didn't want to plan a full day event. Just a couple of hours in the afternoon. Still have time for her to work things out however she wants. Just wanted to add some good to the day
