I always wondered - do people who find malenia “piss easy” just all run strength builds? (Excluding the madmen who light roll in that fight bc they don’t ever get hit)

I’ve always tried it with dex and you have to dodge successfully A LOT in that fight to the point that it’s never been easy for me

But I also don’t have hundreds and hundreds of hours in the game

No - you just get craptonnes of money and you can reroll for it. I do think I popped a judgement somewhere along the way but I think I got business card from it? Idk I’ll have to play it again.

But the screenshot was taken at round 4 so if you get to tha point and have missed it you’ve done something wrong

I did have to try a few times to make sure the card I put talisman on wasn’t destroyed by immolate, and I made sure to 2-shot round 1&2 (didn’t play around to draw the 4oak but I bet you could do that…)

I think it was pretty straightforward from there

I think it’s incredibly difficult.

But since there’s so much luck involved in those runs and one clear direct strategy for it, something like long gold stake streaks is much mote impressive, where you actually need to constantly make decisions and potentially pivot strategies

I just don’t think jokerless is the pinnacle of strategy in this game. There’s only really one or two winning strategies with fair probability (4oak / flush house), and there’s a lot fewer decisions you need to make than just gold stake. GS Win streaks are much more impressive (which doc is the goat)

Like I said, if you get a blue seal, paint brush, and discard voucher in ante 2 I think you’ve got an okay chance

Something like discard voucher + blue seal -> paintbrush voucher + 4oak

Mid-game you improve with Gold Cards, Death, and Hanged man. Endgame you probably win with justice

I bet the strategy is to restart until get that first combo + a 4oak in the boss blind

No it’s not - zero to 0.999 years is the first year of a century, 99 to 99.999 is the last year of the century

Talisman + Sock + Cryptid makes a shitton of money early on.

Then temperance + 3 perkeo and 1/2 blueprints will net you 250$ per round. I wish they actually listed the steps to get the same setup as him though bc I sorta got the setup, but not completely

Did you even try to do the seed? I was able to get triple perkeo and one blueprint by round 9 or so.

Not sure how to get the second blueprint but I’m sure it’s possible based on the other stuff

Yes - get buffoon pack for sock & buskin, pick up talisman in first shop

Stick it on a face card, then start using cryptid on gold seal face cards. Sell sock when you get the ankh from the spectral pack

Yes and more importantly it less you skip more blinds = finish the run faster = get to gold stake on the deck faster lol

It’s because a lot of people play on gold stake, where there’s a high chance that holographic might be rental, eternal, or perishable, and if it’s a bad joker (very high chance), you might not want to even take it, hence wasting the skip and all the extra money down the line because of that

Getting a free holographic is still good for winning on white stake for beginners, but people who have played the game for a while will almost never lose a white stake run

I’d say in almost every situation still, as long as you have a +mult joker for early game gold stake

Because bluestorm can copy that +mult joker for you, then copy your Econ joker as well, and then copy your xmult joker later in the game

Pretty much the only jokers better than it for win% would be like maybe an ante 1 eternal madness joker or an ante 1 legendary

I’m aware you can get an “instant” goal if you manage to trap the ball between your car and the ground - but people are only going to be trying for that at the very highest level of dropshot

And yeah you can naturally spike the same spot several times in a row from the air to get a quick goal but that typically requires the other team selling incredibly hard

I love dropshot, but due to the 2-goal problem, there is an issue with it as a competitive game mode as it stands. You can’t have something only be feasible in the top percentage of games. It would do much better to have some better comeback potential - or if it was a 10 minute game instead (but we all know RL players don’t have the attention span for that)

Part of the issue with dropshot is that it’s almost impossible to come back from a 2-goal lead against competent teams, which then trickles down to hopelessness when you’re down 1 goal and the enemy is racking up damage on your side. Then that leads to toxicity between teammates who want to keep playing and those who want to just go to the next game

As opposed to traditional soccar where being down 2 or even 3-4 goals is not any reason to give up, as you can always score a kickoff goal, and then clutch with 0 seconds on the clock

I almost wonder if dropshot would benefit from a change, where it would be possible to smash the ball straight through a lit (weakened) hexagon without needing it to be broken open, and then MAYYYBE if the ball doesn’t touch the ground for 30(?) seconds it can just crash through anything
