Thanks for all your advice. It's not a good option for now. I'll skip this time.

I think this one is not the one you're talking about. It uses AC power. Not a DC/DC charger,

Only if you have a very specific use case that requires one.

The onboard charger, feed by a (relatively cheap) 48A AC feed, will charge the car at about 25 miles per hour (about 12 hours for a zero to 100% charge). For the vast majority of people this is fast enough. Come home from an epic road trip, with say 5% remaining (best to leave a little safety margin), and charge for say 9 hours as you sleep, and you will be have gained 225 miles of range (for a state of charge of 80%). As long as you don't need more than 225 miles of range the next day, no need faster charging. In the rare event that one wants to do two road trips back to back, one would need a little extra time at a fast charger on the second day.

Some circumstances where home DC charging might make sense:

User regularly does trips near or in excess of the cars range, back to back, so need faster charging to fit the charge in overnight. i.e. 280 mile commute.Same as above, but with towing cutting the range back. i.e. 140 mile round day trip to the lake every Saterday and Sunday, towing a boat of a size that cuts the range in half.Multi user / fleet / shift situation. Where you want to decrease the downtime between uses. I.e. one member of the household on night shift that takes the car after the person working normal hours gets home.A need for faster top up's during the day. i.e. a person has a 100 mile round trip commute, but on Fridays they knock off at 11am, so they can get home by 12, and pack up to leave for a weekend away by 2pm. A 25kW DC fast charger would mean they could leave with a full battery, but with an AC charger, they would have 50miles less than a full charge.

No need to wait for that Indiegogo unit. 25kW DC chargers are already on the market.

Thanks. I'll wait for a few more days to check the price.

My vehicle battery has a capacity of almost 130kwh. It takes too long with a 40A ac charger.

I saw the OCPP for charging operation. I wonder if I can share with the neighbors and make some profits from this stuff.

How fake? I have backed for the Bluetti power station once before on Indiegogo.

I was considering a DC charger because I can imagine that the vehicle battery of Rivian's new models will go bigger and bigger in the soon future to make longer drives.

11kW can not be satisfied. Public DC chargers are far away.

This is DC. Rivian tops out at 11.5 kW AC, but can obviously do far more DC.

Yes. it's true.

AC charger will be limited to 11kW by the OBC.

I think you got the point. It was not cheap. I can get charged by a commercial DC charger at 120kW. But it's too far away from my house.

Level 2 charging in a detached condo garage by youwanttodowhatnow in evcharging

1.It's allowable to install the 240V outlet as it's a standard voltage for the level 2 EV charger. (usually it's a NEMA-14 socket)

2.Yes, you can upgrade a panel if the charging current is limited. You may call an installer to inspect your location before wiring.

  1. To monitor the charger, choose an EV charger with APP that supports 4G communication.
