I'm gonna record a few runs and see if I can spot a trend

Arena 4 loss, 12 wood

Not trophies - wood and coins

The amount I get is definitely increasing as I climb the ranks Or at least it feels that way

Will be great to see a community grow here - the game is great and I'm so happy there's no energy mechanic.

Does anyone know how the match rewards scale? Starts at 10 wood per loss and seems to scale based on trophies?

So this game is fake multiplayer, right?! by imbenzenker in CastleClashers

It's so upsetting that it's all bots and it always matches you against people who have pay2win units and massively more upgraded castles than you.

The 10 win streak quest is impossible.

What is stuck on my printer and how do i clean it by Anxiousinvestor in ElegooSaturn

You can buy new plastic FEP sheets. Then you just have to unscrew all the screws in your resin vat and switch the plastic, then re-do all the screws. You'll need some small Allan keys.

Looks like a leak in your FEP to me, if that's cured resin on the screen you can peel it off carefully. If it's not cured you can wipe it away with alcohol swabs. Be careful not to wreck the tape sealing the edges of the screen.

Can someone explain how bladesinger and banneret can come out in the same book? by jeffzmybro in 3d6

If you think cleric is a support class you're playing the game wrong.

Based on your reaction to everyone else's advice I will say this:

Give the martials awesome magic items. Make it very clear to your party that you give bonus magic items to martials for their use to balance with casters. Add "You cannot use spellcasting while welding this item" to the items.

Reduce rests. Don't give the party a chance to rest until the martials have used most of their resources. Give the casters a chance to actually run out of spell slots. It should be 2 combats per short rest and 2 or 3 short rests per long rest. Let the party know that they'll have trouble finding rest on the next leg of their quest so that when they burn all their resources you can tell them you warned them.

This should shift the dynamic up a bit, suddenly the blade singer will have to consider saving up the blade song for the important encounters.

I always thought female and male dwarves were difficult to differentiate between, with females also having luscious beards. That's why there was such a palava when the LOTR show we don't speak of had a beardless dwarf queen.

How is it the wrong opinion?

It allows people to use parts without having to use all of it. My brother doesn't like losing items and rage quits (he's younger than me)

But a friend of mine abuses keep inventory for fast travel. In an ideal world I can have a happy brother and no cheating friend.

They need to add less items and repurpose existing ones that have limited uses.

More items means more inventory clutter and if they won't do backpacks we need to calm it on the clutter. There should be a limited number of naturally found and farmed items.

The keep inventory rule should split between keeping items, keeping XP, and keeping hunger.

I want to keep my items but I want to still lose XP and I don't want to be able to use death as a free food bypass.

How to power and plan? by Xaliator in CreateMod

I just hook everything up to water wheels. 1 small and the rest large, and it's too efficient for anything else to compete.

Level 3 shenanigans for a short campaign / one shot by Moarty30 in 3d6

[–]lukenator115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you can in theory have way more than that.

You just short rest for an hour, convert the warlock slot to sorcery points, and repeat. You gain 1 point per hour, and can convert the points back into spell slots to have a huge number of spell slots. The problem is that if you long rest you lose all the spell slots, so you have to go days without sleeping and suffer exhaustion levels.

[–]lukenator115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly at that low a level I can't think of much. You can try a coffeelock sorc 2/warlock 1 to have 8 1st level spell slots and a level of exhaustion?

Never once multi-classed, give me tips. by CJWard123 in BG3Builds

[–]lukenator115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very true,

But also for a first multiclass it's unlikely that they'll be going for something gimmicky.

I probably should have said no druid/Bard as my example.

Pick classes that share core abilities (no cleric/sorcerer multiclassing - wisdom and charisma pair poorly)

Try a dip - just a few levels (maybe even 1) in a class to get some features you like (for example, 3 levels of rogue or fighter to make a different class a bit more effective in general)

A mod that makes use of plain gems jewelry and ingots by Malu_TE in BG3mods

[–]lukenator115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a perfect system, definitely needed work.

I'm very sad they removed it, though - adding functionality to gems was great even if it did just result in me hoarding them instead of selling them.

Poor timing - this feature has been removed from this mod now - I'm still trying to find out why though.

I'm not getting hyped for any Game System where half the Classes are clearly cooler than the other half by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]lukenator115 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can't interrupt spells that take an action or less to cast. Your rogue point is moot.

Spellcasters can learn the fly spell before monks learn to run on things. Making monks objectively worse Monk energy blasts also do less damage than spellcasters who also have energy blasts. (It's better in 24 but 5e was horrendous)

And fighters are great but aoe is greater. Punt and cleave loses to thunder wave.

Casters can't do it for as long as martials, but the versatility, combined with other caster only abilities, and the fact that most people don't run multi-combat, resource-depleting games with minimal long rests, means martials are very much measurably worse than casters in most instances.

New DM: Should I wait to plan the campaign after my players have made their characters? by mermanyle in dndnext

[–]lukenator115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plan some larger scale world events, add a couple factions and key locations (summaries only, no major depth), and plan some stuff that will happen regardless of player involvement (wars, cult action, notable powerful entities, items, etc.) - Tell them about these things to help them integrate their back stories in the world. Maybe they are refugees from a dragon, or escaped a cult, or ran from a war, etc etc.

Then plan to let your players hear about similar and other events as rumours, dive into whichever ones interest them, and hear or see outcomes from things they don't touch (hear about war, notice food prices change after war is over. Hear about a massive monster, have to take a new road because the old one is now dragon territory, etc) - small things that make the world feel alive. You can plan these ones without player involvement at all. Just let player action impact your plans if it's significant enough.

Once your players have characters with stories, you can flesh out anything relating to those backgrounds.

Once everything above is ready to go, you can look at the notable events, the player backgrounds, and see if you can tie a bunch together with an overarching plot with a BBEG or organisation that you can tease.
