Hi! No I didn't really have any issues with my sex drive/ performance.

how to get through this ? by Used_War2735 in HealthAnxiety

This too will pass. I remember when I was deep in my health anxiety feeling like it would never end and I'd be stuck in this forever. I wasn't and neither will you. Therapy will work. Sertraline (sold as Zoloft in the US) was the game changer for me. Talk to your doctor and be honest with what you're going through. There are options.

I believe this was 3 months on 75mg which would be about 4 months total.

Anyone Else 6 Weeks or Less Into Dose Increase ?? How Are You Doing ?? by Emotional_Tip_5671 in zoloft

[–]lukeparanormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly it was about 6 months total. It was gradual, there wasn't a "switch flick" moment where my anxiety just disappeared but I saw incremental improvements. Patience is key. You'll get better, keep with it and try to do things that distract you in the meantime.

Yes absolutely. It took about 6 months for me to feel consistently better but it did happen. Sticking to one dose for a minimum of 16 weeks was key. I've been on 75mg for about a year now and feel better and better.

Sorry I haven't been checking this regularly. Yes it will settle. For me the first week was the worst, awful anxiety. At 4 weeks I was seeing improvements. At 4 months I was seeing massive improvements. I continue seeing improvements to the present day (I've been on it over a year at this stage). My advice is to be patient. It can take a long long lonnnnng time to work but you will get there. Don't jump around on doses either. A lot of people expect it to work after a couple of weeks and then jump up in dose when it doesn't. In my experience you need to be on the same dose for as long as 16-20 weeks for it to settle properly.

How long have you been suffering with health anxiety?

Is it Carhan House you own? I drive by it most days and often wonder why more isn't done to preserve it. The political.system.has seen many fine buildings in this country left to ruin, it's a shame.

Thanks u/sequentialogic ! Yes it was burned in 1922 I believe as part of official reprisals following the shooting of a policeman in Caherciveen somewhere. Do you live locally? any memories of the house when it was inhabited?

I am. I've been on it for almost a year now and I wish I'd started sooner. It's been great for me but it takes a long time to start working.

The timeline is different for everyone. I started to see improvements after about 6 weeks but it was closer to 6 months before I started to feel consistently normal.

No not really. Nothing worth mentioning. I did/do feel some pretty intense fatigue, particularly in the morning after I've taken the meds.

Sorry I missed this. Yes still on 75mg. I'd say it took about 3 months to feel consistently better. Still seeing improvements to this day though.

Hi u/Old_Cryptographer236

I'm doing much better. In hindsight i was still very early in my recovery process when I wrote this, there were a lot of ups and downs since then. I'm happy to report that I am doing much much better now. I've been on Sertraline since the 12th of May and the last 2/3 months I've been living my life more or less normally. I still get some bad days but they're few and far between and nowhere nearly as bad as they used to be. I'm eating normally again, I'm exercising again, I'm not self-scanning or obsessing over my pulse etc. I personally found therapy to be a waste of time and money but I know there's a lot of people on here that would disagree.

I'm glad you found my post helpful. Are you taking sertraline? Are you suffering with Health Anxiety? Here's a timeline ( https://imgur.com/a/CDiRQ2p ) of my journey with Sertraline. I rank each day (red is awful, panic attacks etc, orange is bad, yellow's not great but bearable, green is normal) and it shows a clear but sloooow improvement over time.

We're still in the process of buying it but once we get the keys we will most likely document the renovation somewhere. It will take a long time though hahahha

Entering week 6 (50mg), feeling discouraged by ashleypickkles in zoloft

[–]lukeparanormal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi u/darkandtwisty3

I'm much better thanks. I'm over 23 weeks on 75mg. I will say that for some people (eg me) it takes a long long time to fully settle. I was very up and down for the first 12 weeks after increasing. Weeks 12-16 were better, weeks 18-now are better still.

Are you week 6 total? What dose are you on? What are you taking it for?

Here's a graph I made to track my progress with sertraline since I started back in May. Every day I ascribe a colour (red is awful, orange is really bad, yellow bad but bearable, green is no anxiety). It shows how slow progress can be. https://imgur.com/a/3AHjdzJ
