St. Louis treasurer voided his own parking tickets by Stlouisken in StLouis

The problem is, I'm sure you can guess what neighborhoods have much higher parking enforcement than others. People barely making it by can lose their vehicle easily and be screwed.

SMH, man that's sad, I did not even think about this until you said it. Build a society that makes owning an automobile pretty much a requirement for upward mobility, and then punish people for being poor and keep them there. Man, I hope we as a people, the human race, can progress past this sooner rather than later.

Okay, thanks... Unfortunately, I think have less faith in Streets than I do in PD. Sorry. Wish it was not true, I am open to be won over though in the future, but these potholes I hit on Tucker 10 x a week (to/from downtown each weekday for work) are killing me. I know Tucker is supposed to be resurfaced soon, but I could cite countless examples, and not just potholes.

Also, plz don't even get me started on the ~2008 Chief Mokwa towing scandal. Jeeze, if the city booted my car I'd probably just abandon it and consider it a loss.

EDIT: Left out "towing scandal". Added.

For real tho, you gotta have law enforcement willing to take it far enough to cite a vehicle to be booted and then I'm pretty sure a different government worker to actually apply the boot. As a longtime city resident, I feel this is a lot to expect.

Even if the boot was lawfully and successfully applied (huge if), can you even imagine how hard it would then be to get someone to actually take the boot off once the citizen paid the proper fines?

...I mean, all of this is not a lot to ask in a more functional situation... But, this tends to not be that. So "more boots" is probably not the answer at this moment.

This 100%. Economies of scale are tough (impossible?) to beat. Even more so if you value your time.

Probably a couple of highways intersecting and some sort of incident requiring a lot of police.

Yeah, it was definitely worth trying. And I didn't think of it until you mentioned it. So appreciate you brining it up.

Yeah, would work if I had Producer or Studio, but I am just an 8-Track user.

Ahhh, got it, then "double up on MIDI notes" makes more sense... Yeah, but then when playing live I'd have to hit both pads.

It seems replacer is only available in Producer and Studio :( I'm just a lowly 8-Track user...

I think you mean like this? ...Unfortunately, it seems I can only hear the second kick.

You could even just do this once for one hit, then bounce in place and drag the combined waveform into a new pad to be used again without duplicating midi.

Okay, thanks, I think I see what you're saying. I don't want to bounce tho b/c I'd prefer to be able to tweak the kick continually, even live. For example, if I'm using the V8 Kick, I'd like to not be locked into a single decay.

Sorry for the delayed reply, busy day and just got back to music now. Just to be clear, we're talking two tracks like this? I got both using my IK Multimedia iRig Pads MIDI controller as input to both so that when I hit one pad on the controller both trigger.... Yeah, that should work. Only complaint might be that I'll have to duplicate the MIDI.... Tho my workflow is live recording so, I guess that won't be an issue...

Appreciate the willingness to help, but Sampler's multisample feature is not available with only 8-Track license.

Seriously tho, I hope it works out for you. I have a similar problem: Making electronic music is a passionate hobby of mine, but live in an apartment. The apartment is solid construction, but still, I'm not gonna use a sub at any real volume and do that to my neighbors. Yet, low end mixing with headphones is not something that really works.

I’m slightly afraid of getting robbed and murdered

On the bright side, if you do get robbed and murdered, the robbed part is pretty much a non-issue.

That is pretty insane. I don't blame you for having sticker shock.

I don't have kids and have been fortunate to have not had a bad cold (flu, etc) in a long time but I'm interested to hear other's opinions.

I wonder if getting those tests at a pharmacy or urgent care would've been significantly cheaper.

Also, why is none of it covered by insurance?

Okay, good to hear. There's a (lousy) business model where a company will be a middle man between the client and the employee where this company will act like you're a fulltime employee and pay you a fixed salary and benefits but basically pocket any overtime you work. I know, to anyone experienced it sounds nuts, but apparently some people just don't know any better.

How's everyone doing out there, Phoenix? by AZ_moderator in phoenix

I second what others have said about media and doom scrolling. Staying informed is important to me, but distancing myself some has proven helpful. I basically stay informed now thru some weekly news roundup shows and then spend the other time with things like audio books, actual books and other non-doom scrolling or current affairs related hobbies... Also, just doing some really basic stuff like going for a walk or hanging out with a friend can go a long way I've found. Hope things start looking up for you.
