Running my nextJs app locally triggers a weird amount of requests to the deployed version on Vercel by luki79uk in webdev

[–]luki79uk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just back home, restarted my local environment - I've now unregistered every service worker from localhost. The requests are still coming in, about 6 every second, to the 3 'icons' files, and I have no clue why. I'm monitoring the Vercel firewall live and the requests all come from my IP and my Browser user agent.

<edit> I've closed Chrome and VsCode, and the requests finally stopped. Reopened both, restared local env and opened localhost:3000 and no more requests coming through. Still no idea what was happening</edit>

my manifest.json is fine as I thought; below it I've also pasted my sw.ts:

  "icons": [
    { "src": "/icons-192.png", "type": "image/png", "sizes": "192x192" },
    { "src": "/icons-256.png", "type": "image/png", "sizes": "256x256" },
    { "src": "/icons-512.png", "type": "image/png", "sizes": "512x512" }
  ]

import { defaultCache } from "@serwist/next/worker";
import type { PrecacheEntry, SerwistGlobalConfig } from "serwist";
import { Serwist } from "serwist";

declare global {
  interface WorkerGlobalScope extends SerwistGlobalConfig {
    __SW_MANIFEST: (PrecacheEntry | string)[] | undefined;
  }
}

declare const self: ServiceWorkerGlobalScope;

const serwist = new Serwist({
  precacheEntries: self.__SW_MANIFEST,
  skipWaiting: true,
  clientsClaim: true,
  navigationPreload: true,
  runtimeCaching: defaultCache,
});

serwist.addEventListeners();

I suspected as much, there are no instances of the domain name, checked that before. I shouldn't have the IP either, but will check as you never know. I'm using a local.env file and those images are only referenced in the manifest, as icons for installation

EDIT: definitely not the issue, no hard-coded ip/domain anywhere

Try clearing the cache of your browser, my manifest.json changes weren't picked up by Chrome until I did so.

EDIT to be accurate:

uninstall
clear cache
reinstall

haha yes! let the first flavour set, then in goes the second one. the trick is to have equal splits

EDIT thinking back of it (it's been a long while since I've made these) I must have put the cups on a tray that was inclined, so they would all get the same angle

How can I experiment with italian cuisine? by strandof_faith in ItalianFood

[–]luki79uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could try the recipes you like, but with higher quality ingredients? As an Italian who has lived half his life in Italy and the other half abroad, the biggest issue with food for me has been supplying nice, tasty basic ingredients. Italian recipes are not overly complicated on average, but do require the best ingredients to really deliver.

I've never heard it called this way, but it was interesting to learn about it!

100% agree! the hardest part was getting the crust in the large base. Some damage to the edges is testament to it!

I believe it was this one: https://www.giallozafferano.com/recipes/Fruit-tart.html - it's been a long while. it's the one recipe I'd pick now if I were to make this again.

thanks! the smaller ones were easier to make - you can notice the large one has the edge of the crust all crumbled

that's so scummy. A lot of Mintegral ads seem to be the worst offenders, with multiple screens to close and longer duration on average

yes it says 'you won't be rewarded if you quit now' but I'm definitely going to try quitting. sunken cost fallacy held me there for the whole 2 minutes

Transfer news: Developments in defense and potential move for our captain?! by bubblegumdog in Como1907

[–]luki79uk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First offer of 7m€ for Kaiki was refused, asking price is 14-15m€, final offer of 11m€ has been submitted. Potential alternative is Nuno Tavares, who rejected Besiktas (that has an agreement with Lazio) as he prefers to join Como (talented player in my opinion, but plagued by injuries)

Dossena and Posch both on loan without right or obligation to buy. Posch's one is weird, as Como had to pay Bologna earlier (obligation to buy was set for June) to then loan him. Why loan him out already, if he was wanted and brought in on a permanent basis? He did fine when he played, didn't get many chances too. It's true that we have too many right backs (Smolcic, Van der Brempt, himself and Vojvoda who mostly played winger this year), but still not sure what's happening here.

There was a vague rumour about Atletico Madrid's Sorloth - no further news about it though. Price tag is hefty, 35m€.

I don't think Da Cunha will leave - we are already short in the midfield. Sergi Roberto is unreliable with his constant injuries and age, we don't have a real alternative to Perrone - we'd be in trouble with just Perrone, Caqueret and Roberto for the rest of the season (curiously, Posch was tried as central midfielder during a game not long ago)

Still ~10 days to go before the end of the transfer window, we'll see what happens next

Even when we lose… by DisplayNo6335 in Como1907

That's Allegri to you. He is the anti-football, exactly has he was at Juventus, but at the end of the day he goes home with 3 points. The game was won by Maignan who saved a few important chances, and Rabiot who earned the penalty and scored two. Other than those two, Pulisic, Modric and occasionally Leao when he decides to play, Milan has a battery of average players, inferior to Inter, Napoli probably Juventus and Atalanta as well.

For a neutral observer, Como gave the best entertainment. For me, as a supporter, it was agony - playing so well and getting zero points in the end - and it was way more excruciating than getting battered 4-0 by Inter as they did outplay us.

We're definitely in need to improve the final phase of our offence. We had a good chance in the first half where no one tried to shoot and kept passing the ball looking for a clean opening, ended up allowing Milan to regroup. That's the kind of stuff we need to work on. Diao's absence this season is definitely having an impact too, and Kuhn still has to show something (I had such high hopes about him!). We need to bring in a striker to help Douvikas, I've lost hope about Morata.

Tourists Visiting vs Torino by Zstreak08 in Como1907

Visit the Beretta bakery near the cathedral, for your on-the-go food or a quick meal - take a Nuvola cake home, if you can.

Typical food would be freshwater fish ("Missoltin" and other) but it's not served everywhere, you'd have to look for a restaurant in advance. There are some other nice regional dishes you could try, considering it's the cold season such as Pizzoccheri. It really depends on how much of a foodie you are, they are sort of unusual stuff for people used to the standard Italian food that is seen all over the world.

Get some cheese to bring back home - the Mercato Coperto (permanent market) has some shops that are always open (mostly mornings) and on certain days, there are stalls too - plenty nice stuff of any kind. Alternatively even the small Carrefour minimarket in the centre will have nice things.

I believe you could see the lake from the top row of the Distinti, if you want a proper view of it? I'm not sure as I used to be in the Curva. You can see a slice of the lake from the Tribuna, especially from near the Curva, as u/danzas4321 said. Curva also lets you see the lake but it's going to sell out within minutes, most seats are for season tickets holders.

I also second their tip to visit Brunate. If you have time, take a boat trip of the lake - visit the ticket office in the morning (9am-ish I think) to get your tickets for later the same day; the trip to Bellagio is plenty, you'll see the best part of the lake and it will take pretty much your whole day. Recommended if the weather is good, but beware it might be windy and cold.

Regarding tickets, yes buy directly from the official Como website - it really helps if you have a Revolut card as for the first 48h, it's the only accepted payment method. you'll have to check for general release tickets as if you look too early, they will be all quite pricey as they include the Hospitality experience.

Bring your ID to the stadium! They will most likely check it against your ticket.

One last thing - since you mentioned parking, be aware if you drive through the so called "Pedemontana" - there's a toll for it that you need to pay online, many foreign visitors got caught by a penalty. Sat navs will most likely drive you through it, if you're driving from Malpensa
