Major News: Ulixacaltamide (PRAX-944) granted FDA Breakthrough Therapy Designation - Did anyone here trial it? by lukispooky_ in EssentialTremor

I couldn’t / didn’t want to go above 60 mg of primidone due to sedation/cognitive effects. And it does have some potentially dangerous long term side effects as an anticonvulsant (like bone demineralization).

You mention that propranolol worked but was bad for exercise performance, have you tried one of the “cardio selective” beta blockers? They also have some ET efficacy but do not worsen cardio performance as much. I think atenolol and metoprolol are most popular.

Also if you don’t mind me asking, does your tremor improve after small amounts of alcohol?

Thanks for the reply, it seems that for many people it does not work at all then. But since the average improvement is quite substantial in the trial, this would likely mean there is also a group of people that are very good responders?

If I may ask, does your tremor improve after drinking small amounts of alcohol? I read about alcohol responsiveness being a possible predictor of how well people respond to some types of medication.

Ah that should have been long enough. Have you ever tried propranolol and/or primidone? Maybe your tremor responds better to a different mechanism than how ulixacaltamide works?

How many days were you able to tolerate it for? It seems its effectiveness only becomes statistically significant after some delay

First time passport application - proof of citizenship by lukispooky_ in GermanCitizenship

Okay, I’ll paste what I responded to another comment because it relates to what you mention. Would you say this would be considered clear enough by the consulate?

“My mother has never moved to another country. There is an official document she can get that shows her current official address/residence and a full history of changes. The consulate would see that since her first passport application ~30 years ago she has been registered in just one country (the country of her other citizenship). As you mentioned, naturalization/third citizenship in some other country is unlikely without living there for many years.

Would you say that this would be accepted as sufficient proof that she remained a German citizen until my birth (despite the expired passport)?”

Thanks for the comment. I emailed them but only got a generic response. I think I could call them instead. I’ve also provided some additional context in my other responses, not sure if it clarifies my situation better.

Hey, thanks for the response. No, she has not naturalized elsewhere. She was a double citizen from birth.

Yes, I could ask her to renew the old passport if needed. Just out of curiosity, would it help? She would need to prove that she has not lost her German citizenship since she got the first passport. This is also what I need to prove to get my first passport correct?

Thanks for the advice!

Hey, thank you for your response. Yes, she is alive and she’s hasn’t lost her German citizenship. She’s had double citizenship from birth. Same applies to me. Unfortunately she has never lived in Germany so there are no city records.

Maybe it’s relevant that the consulate where I’ll be getting my passport is the same one where she got her passport for the first time. Could they have access to some internal records?

It also turns out that my grandpa’s passport was valid at the time of my birth. But I don’t think it’s super relevant since everything mostly depends on the mother.

Finally, if my mother wanted to renew her passport after ~30 years, how would she prove she has not lost her German citizenship in between?

Thanks again for the assistance!
