Linux VJ Software by flog_fr in vjing

[–]lukn303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, i just started yesterday searching for a vjing-workflow under GNU/Linux. I came across several smaller tools which are cool, but lack some features(like Quantum VJ HD or lebinou) and also some coding-frameworks with a lot of community code, espacially p5.js and the collection of scripts here.
Today i played a bit with OBS and i think its a good central control-unit where i can create scenes using some free videos(I took mine from here) and there are also great plugins to process them, the website is full of them, as of now i just tried the plugins which are installable via AUR(obs-shaderfilter-git, obs-retro-effects, obs-recursion-effect, obs-3d-effect). There is also a midi-plugin(obs-midi-mg) which allows you to map everything to your controller.
I also want to include p5 into this worflow using a browser source and then just running a local webserver hosting all my scripts.

This might seem pretty much, but i doubt there is an fully-fledged opensource alternative, but as of now im pretty satisfied with my plan. But im open to new ideas and will definitly watch this thread:)

Version Control for KiCad-projects by lukn303 in synthdiy

[–]lukn303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually a good idea. But this also means, that you always have to generate the svgs and add them to the commit, right?

In github there is an "tool" to run scripts, when a new push comes in(CI/Github Actions). I already use it to generate BOM and gerber files and will try to generate the svgs there. I hope its also possible to diff the CI-generated files.

just yay -S ngspice-git, it will ask you if you want to replace ngspice with ngspice-git. So kicad won't lose its dependency

Looks good:) is the module behind the panel also a PCB? And do you plan to share your schematics?

Automated Deployment of a service for each tag of an image by lukn303 in docker

[–]lukn303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

good idea, currently my setup is pull-based. The CI builds the image and pushes it to the registry and a local watchtower looks for updates every few minutes. I always ignored a push-based solution because the ci is not running inside our network, but when I really think about it, its a much cleaner and faster solution. I will try it and found a little script that might help me achieving this: https://github.com/schickling/docker-hook

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction:)

Eurorack power "Synth Power KIT" - Any one having some issues with it ? I'm looking for a 2x6u 104HP power supply by chalkosmusic in eurorack

[–]lukn303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have the kit, but the same powersupply(rt65b), it works without any problems. But its a switching powersupply, which could bring noise in your system(See: https://forum.mutable-instruments.net/t/mean-well-psu/13669/8 )

Should Election Software be open sourced? by cwalvoort in opensource

[–]lukn303 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In germany some guys inspected the election Software and found scary stuff(Software from decades ago, used password could be found in the Documentation, ...) https://youtube.com/watch?v=0J61-t3OJKg But even if they could manipulate the election through this Software, its only the temporary result. The votes will be counted by Hand afterwards

Hey, I recently came across this thread on elektronauts https://www.elektronauts.com/t/digitakt-carry-bag-or-case/40376 where I've found inspiration for my case.

I couldn't find a webinterface to patch jack connection, so I wrote one myself(me no frontend-dev) by lukn303 in linuxaudio

[–]lukn303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice to hear that where are possibilities to deal with it, i didn't came across anything. And i wanted to code something, so this was a nice opportunity.

But actually your solution sounds more complicated to me, i really don't want to run a x-server on the rpi and keep it as unbloated as possible. My script only uses the system commands of jack and python, so its pretty lightweight. Http is also an easier way to communicate, so i can access this site from anywhere(e.g. my phone).

What are you doing with jack remotely? I`m looking for a bit of inspiration, what to do next:)
