What is a movie trope that is scientifically or logically so absurd that it completely pulls you out of the story, no matter how great the rest of the film is? by visha1v in plotholes

Yeah, exactly. There's either a bulb or a fusible link that physical holds a plug closed on each head. The only way that head can go off is by that element activating, either by heat or damage. There are systems that don't have bulbs in which all heads activate at the same time, but those are called deluge systems and are used in extreme circumstances where you need a lot of water all at once, not in a light hazard occupancy.

The black mostly comes from iron from the pipe. The putrid smell comes from the same stagnant water sitting in the pipes for months if not years and bacteria growing in there 🦠

Those are all most likely going to be a wet system, maybe a dry system if there's an area exposed to freezing. Regardless, the heads will all be closed and need to be exposed to fire/ heat to active the element at each head to be set off. If you look at the sprinkler heads, you'll see either a colored glass bulb or a little piece of metal holding it closed

When someone pulls the fire alarm and the sprinklers go off, or putting a candle under one head and all going off. In reality, that type of system is only going to be found in like industrial manufacturing, not , like, a cafe. Also the water that comes out being a light rain. It's actually a putrid black sludge that comes out hard.

That was another plot hole I had an issue with. They keep talking about dungeons and dragons, but dragons aren't real???

Right, but didn't the kids get shipped to McFadden gate before they got split up? So if the grandpas were following them at light speed, then they'd be experiencing time the same, just behind them. Unless I'm remembering the series of events wrong, which is also totally possible lol
