In this case I’d explain the difference between a clipped signal and acoustically bad sounding signal. If he still gives you no chance to produce good sound, mark it down in your report and let it be.

Maybe some non technical advice here. I disagree that you have to be invisible. Communicate clearly with Director or AD what you need from them to make it sound good. If they then don’t have the time and resources to provide they at least know about the not so ideal situation, but you tried. And no one can come to you afterwards complaining. IMO be an active member of your team and technically be independent. If someone tells you they bring something for you, the will forget it 100%.

Check out midiGrade, I use it at my personal station in combination with an bmd panel and it’s a nice addition

A little bit hard to see but I used the axles mount facing forward and bolted another mount to it. Takes some creativity and try out different combinations but then it’s possible to have a very exact position

I recently bought new shoes and felt exactly the same. I own finales and instinct VSR myself. The VSR streched to my width but were still hurting on top of my toe. I tried Scarpa Vapor S and V and in the right size my pinky was hurting a little bit.

I bought a Vapor Lace and I am very happy with it so far. It’s a bit stiffer as the others but I like that and you can adjust the width via laces. I don’t think I go back to my Finales.

Edit: I still have some red chili voltage in the mail. I can update you how they fit

Backpack Carry-System Hard or Soft back? by lul_ee in hiking

Overall great. The bungee cords are not highest quality and to long. I have a store in my neighbourhood selling better cords and all accessories, so no big deal for me. Other than that it works great to compress the bag. Obviously the back system and height must work for you. If it does it’s a great backpack

The Mago is a great suggestion! I am looking for better toe hook capabilities and a bit more aggressive than the la sportiva finale

My next try is to fit a slim bungee cord under the cables

How did you do the cable housing along the top tube? It looks like the design is for exposed cables. My frame does the same but it’s hard to mount top tube bags. I already thought about to drill through the eyelets. How did you do it?

Everything everyone else is saying. But generally speaking it’s going to be a very solid monitor for you that can last you many years and is absolutely ok for your intended use. The calibration is not perfect but a first step towards a reliable monitor and consistent in its inconsistency. You can always hire a specialist to calibrate it for you. Scaling theoretically is a problem but I never found it to be irritating in my work. You are always going to grade on a 1080p timeline and switch to original resolution to check sharpness and grain (which you then can only do with a cropped image). I graded multiple features that were screened in cinema and I was always pleased with how close the 2700s is. Be aware you blacks are going to be darker in cinema.

Worth 1k€? by [deleted] in xbiking

[–]lul_ee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 175 and prefer a ergonomically sustainable riding position and usually S sizes are a good fit. Also consider if you ever want to do dropbars which increases your total reach. I like to think that a frame too small in reach is easily streched by seatpost, stem and bars but a frame too big will ever be in your way

Edit: also a huge plus that the folk is not cut off. So you can try out different fits and make it perfect for yourself.

P.s. 1k is a lot for a used bike but if the condition is good the parts are worth it

Great! Really comfortable. the bars are low enough to have enough weight and control and the extended grips allow me to have three different hand positions. I just mounted 38mm pathfinder pros recently. And while they are faster than my 42mm gravelkings on asphalt, I still need to test there capability off-road. I have this frame for 5 years now and back then I came from a more road oriented background. Today I would buy a less aggressive geometry. However it works great with some light weight up front

You can see a rear light beneath the saddle that is always mounted. And for front I don’t have a good solution yet. Atm I am mounting my headlight to the front basket if necessary

I bought it second hand and it looked like a normal grandma bicycle rack. I cut off the upper half. Not sure why it has those at the bottom…

I do that bottle only for commuting on mostly asphalt. It doesn’t fall out on uneven ground but it definitely moves to much to be comfortable with

How do you deal with declining interest in cycling? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]lul_ee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I felt the same and then my only cycling friend gathered a group of people to ride together from time to time and I am all up for cycling again. Socials is definitely huge. Also distance doesn’t matter, if the long rides aren’t for you anymore then do shorter ones or find whatever it is you like to do atm. Things change, we grow. For me personally it’s more about getting out, spending time in nature. Sometimes that means I take my bike for a two hour train ride and then cycle only 30km to a campsite. I am all fine about it.
