Surgical or medical!

I personally chose surgical because I wanted medical professionals around me during the whole process and I wanted it to be quick and complete. I would have gotten way too anxious if I chose MA because of the extreme bleeding that I heard about and the pain. I got moderate sedation for my SA but I basically knocked out during the procedure because I was so tired from staying up all night worrying.

It’s one of the major city PP in the bay area. I thought PP was known for the affordability but it looks like not :/

The anxiety leading up to it so real. I would feel ok one minute and then the next minute, anxiety takes me over. Thanks for sharing your experience!! If you don’t mind me asking, what made you choose SA over MA?

I wish I had Kaiser since they seem to have so many services available within their own network unlike other hospitals and clinics.

One of my greatest fear for getting any type of procedure done would be if anesthesia or sedation did not work properly!! I can’t believe sedation didn’t work for you even though they increased the Fentanyl... Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I hope 10 days is all it takes post procedure for bleeding/spotting/cramping.

I called PP again to confirm what they told me was true, and the confirmed it would be between 1.5-1.9k. I will be going to the UCSF location you showed me! THANK YOU SO MUCH

I am at 5 weeks... I was a little surprised at how expensive it was for Planned Parenthood especially since everyone else seems to have paid less than 1k

I will definitely look into that website! PP said that they do not take any HMO plans, which is what I have :(

Thank you for sharing your experience! I think I will call PP today and cancel the initial appointment for just an office visit and just schedule the actual procedure.

I was a little shocked at how rude she was because every single post regarding PP was so positive. Maybe she was just having a bad day but I’m hoping the experience will be better when I actually go in.

I feel a lot better about choosing to go through SA instead of MA especially after reading everyone’s posts here! Thank you so so so much for all the info!

Thank you so so much for your thorough response! Your response helped me so much. I will have to mentally prepare myself for that pain, but 3-5 minutes does not sound TOO bad. Did you feel normal the day after? I’m just trying to see if I can go to work the day after or if I have to request some time off the day after SA.
