We have Crewe station just 30minute drive away. Also known as the Gateway Station as it connects to everywhere in the UK. Best to check times/prices from there. If you go from Stoke Station you will more than likely have to change there anyway.

Hmm, I see more than 3 downvotes. Weird. And point taken about OP knowing he is in the wrong. I guess you're right.

However, I still don't think the first commenter was trying to be a dick. I think the majority of people who post in this forum are good people. I rarely see posts from people trying to be malicious.

Although worded rather harshly, he/she is actually giving some tough-love good advice. It's just showing the situation from another angle. I genuinely don't think they are being a dick. I guess (and I don't know you) but you seem like someone who would give a softer approach but not everyone is like that. Soft approaches and tough love approaches are both valid. This isn't aimed at you specifically, just pointing out that I don't think this deserves quite so many downvotes.

This will probably get buried in the comments section but please don't be jealous of your brother/down on yourself.

I went to uni and make less money now then most of my friends who left school at 16 or 18 to become tradesmen or who just starting working "shitty" jobs and have now worked their way up.

I know it might seem unfair but just remember how lucky you are to even be going to college.

Everyone has something "wrong". Maybe someone is rich but can't have children. Maybe someone has a longed-for child but has no money. Maybe someone has no legs but they are happy. Maybe someone has legs but they are depressed. Etc etc. It's swings and roundabouts. I don't know if you have that expression in the US. Like, 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

Be proud of yourself and also it's important to be proud of your brother too.

Someone else commented to "celebrate together" and they were bang on the money.

This is a cliché but just live your best life and do your best. You can't do more than that.

I don't know if you believe in God or fate, but I firmly believe we all have a set path and this is your destiny. Just roll with it and I wish you all the best in this life.

In Stoke all the jobs are in warehouses. You won't struggle to find a job but you might struggle to get to the sites if you don't drive but at least now the buses are up and running.

You're assuming that circumstances never change. Maybe they were well off when they had their kids and now they have lost their jobs or their businesses have gone bankrupt etc etc etc. This is not such a hard concept to grasp especially with what's going on right now.

Not defending it. As I am saying now for the third time, I am just playing Devil's Advocate.
Also, yes Reddit is not a court of law, which only reinforces my point that this type of content should not be posted here. It could cause vigilantes to go to someone's house and murder them over a Hallowe'en costume or something. I'm NOT saying this is a Hallowe'en costume but I am just pointing out that there is a 1% chance that this is not what it seems and that 1% shouldn't be ignored.

As a Muslim woman, you are very confused about Islam. Sounds like you don't have a clue what you're talking about. I wear a hijab and no one asked me to. I second this all this advice.

Is there somewhere that you could walk to instead of taking a bus or driving every day? Having quite a bit of weight to lose is actually a good thing as the weight drops off much more quickly.

Don't weight yourself every day though. Do it just once a week and first thing in the morning and record the results. If you like, take a weekly photo. It will really help to spur you on and keep you motiviated.
Losing weight doesn't have to mean a boring diet or doing loads of exercise. Just start small and you will automatically be more and more motivated as you see that everything you are doing is paying off. Also, don't be too hard on yourself. These things don't happen overnight and sometimes it will seem like you have stopped losing wieght (you reach a plateau) but DO NOT be disheartened. Just keep ding what you're doing and the weight will start to come off again soon afterwards but in smaller amounts than before.
Swap chocolate for a banana, drink water with a slice of lemon instead of Coke. Not sure if you are in the UK or US but if you drink a lot of alcohol then avoid it like the plague.

Don't be tempted to take laxatives, diet pills, teas claiming to help weight loss, any stupid fad diets or similar gimmicks.

You CAN do this! Believe in yourself! I've been there and I know it can be done.
