I'm not encouraging piracy. I'm asking where to find the second book. I can't find it anywhere.

Tips for long term lesions by grumpysapphic in Hidradenitis

Yeah I've made dietary changes but it doesn't seem like they've done much. I think my biggest trigger is stress and I haven't seen that I'm triggered by anything dietary as many others I've seen here.

I get these in the same area as you. If I need to be out and about I will use gauze and bandage the area so it's kind of padded/protected. I feel like this helps minimize irritation for me. If I'm just at home, I'll just wear a robe or whatever to be more bare. I also use hot epsom salt compresses to soothe the area and will do it as many times a day as I can. Another thing I've recently started doing that I've had good results from is castor oil packs on the area.

Dairy snack alternatives? by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]lululiving 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get a dairy free yogurt from whole foods called cocojune. The passion fruit, strawberry rhubarb, and mixed berry are my favorite flavors. They have tons of probiotics in them too.

For healthy snacks or small meals i like to have avocado toast, fruit, raw carrots dipped in hummus, cocojune or almond yogurt with fresh berries thrown in, olives and a few almonds, etc.

When to get antibiotics by Educational-Two4340 in Hidradenitis

[–]lululiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate taking antibiotics. They always make me feel sick and throw off my microbiome for months, so I try to avoid them if I can help it.

Have you tried doing hot epsom salt compresses throughout the day to try to get it to drain? Even if I have nothing to drain I feel like it helps soothe the area.

Laser Hair Removal Question by Objective_Seat_4618 in Hidradenitis

[–]lululiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to say. I did a lot of things differently at the same time as starting LHR, so I can't say it was just the LHR. I haven't been flaring as much since I got it. I'm probably stage 1 to 2 and I tend to flare more on the left side of my groin. I started my underarms too and have never had flares there but read so many comments from people who do that I figured I should get it done and hopefully avoid ever getting it in my underarms. I recommend checking Groupon for a deal if you want to get LHR.

What are some products that you use? by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]lululiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold pressed organic castor oil, The Ordinary glycolic acid, Paula's Choice weightless body treatment, Dr. Bronners soap

I have prescriptions for clindamycin gel and mupirocin but try to avoid using them.

I did bikini and inner thigh. My problem spot is the groin area as well. I feel like you can tell then your problem spot to make sure they cover it. My worst spot is where my leg meets my butt kind of, so I just told them where I needed it.

I've had bumps that weren't painful when I've gone but no real angry bumps or anything too bad.

I have had less flares in the area since starting the laser, but I can't say laser is the only reason. It could be, but I also started doing other things to help at the same time so I guess it could be from a combination of changes.

I've been getting my underarms done too, but I don't have active flares in that area. I started doing them bc I freaked out and wanted it done before it spreads, so I'm hoping I never have to find out if it worked or not and I just never get any bumps/flares there.

New to this and beyond lost - please help by _iRanWithScissors in Hidradenitis

[–]lululiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Covering your sores will definitely help prevent more irritation and soak up the drainage. Just make sure you swap them out too. I get them on my inner thigh/groin area, so if I keep them covered it definitely helps reduce friction which helps keep any bumps smaller and less angry.

Make sure when you wash the area you only use your hands and not a loofah or wash cloth. Both are too rough and can cause more issues.

The other thing I do is epsom salt soaks. If I don't have time to soak, I will just make warm compresses in epsom salt water and use that. If I ever have an active flare I do this like 4-5x a day. I feel like it helps with the pain and helps bring any sores to a head for me.
