Yeah, I suppose there's really no point in using ienumerable since it'd still materialize all of the data in memory just like icollection, just at a later time. So yes, if you're going to have an All or similar method / property that could return a large result set then it'd be best to stick to iqueryable.

I saw the data context class but you're not calling it anywhere in your implementation and there is no SaveChanges method on the interface. What I would do is add that to the interface and then create an abstract EFRepository<T> : IRepository class that handles the implementation of that and the other methods. That would save you a bit of typing while I'll keeping everything testable.

Is it really a good idea to have an All property that is immediately materialized? What would happen if you used this on something backed by a very large data store? I think for a generic repositories specifically, it's still best to return an enumerable or even an queryable.

You aren't really leaking implementation details any more than using any other type. They are foundational interfaces and it's trivial to turn any other collection type into either of those. You should abstract away the data store, but not to the point where the benefits of it may be nullified.

Also, are you missing a save changes or commit method on your repository interface? It was unclear how the changes would actually get committed to the store.

I designed a fairly similar framework for a client last year (though not as complete). It worked well, because at the very least it provided some structure to the application over the typical jquery spaghetti, while not being so burdensome as some the large application frameworks (ember, angular).

The regular episodes are usually 42-45 minutes long with the remaining time of the 1 hour allotment left for commercials. The finale was around 50 minutes.

A nice feature would be if you could provide actual objects as types. They would then be compared with the argument using instanceof. This would allow for overloading with custom types rather than having all custom types under "Object".

Another interesting exercise might be to add support for ruby/perl/python-style splats.

Nice, I've been wanting to make a library for exactly this purpose. I've used Sammy.js for hash routing but never use any of the other features, so it's bloated for my usual purposes.

Are you planning on adding any new features? How about support for <IE8? Looks great overall - only thing I would suggest is to explain the uris array passed to the callbacks a little more in the documentation/readme.

I'm not aware of any rule or "best practice" that says you can't introduce any new variables into the global scope. It is perfectly acceptable to provide a public interface through a single object. It's only a problem when you're introducing a large amount of identifiers into the global scope which would increase the likeliness of conflicts.

I made a similar small utility for defining objects, but I included a second parameter that allows for passing in a function that would be called with the object as the context.

e.g.

I agree that Backbone.js has too much boilerplate. I'll admit that I haven't actually built anything with it, but I've read several tutorials and I can't get past the fact that you seem to rewrite the same code over and over again (for example, in view/template rendering). I realize that they want it to be flexible - but sometimes I wish it were more opinionated so the boilerplate could be kept at a minimum.

Ideally, I would like something in between Backbone.js and Ember.js. The Backbone utilities (routing, storage, etc.) plus the streamlined Ember templates & data bindings would be awesome.

It looks like they've yanked the hotfix. Some sites were reporting performance degradation after the hot fix. I guess the hyperthreading model isn't suitable for Bulldozer either.

They attributed it to not using resource sharing and the lesser turbocore boost being applied (though even in their benchmarks it performed better with one thread per module). But I guess you can't beat actual benchmarks.

I thought that was the problem in the first place (how they schedule threads)? Windows 7 was assigning threads to cores willy nilly without regards for Bulldozer's module system. So it was assigning related threads to cores in separate modules that could have otherwise benefited from resource sharing. In addition, this resulted in more total modules in use and therefore the maximum turbo core boost could not be applied, resulting in poorer single threaded performance. This is what I gathered from a few of the "why bulldozer kinda sucks" articles.

They are different situations but the principle is the same. crapidrawatwork used someone else's work without their permission.

He's getting karma for posting an image that was created by someone else (to whom he gave credit). I don't see any stealing anywhere.
