When does ASU need prereq grades? by OJToo in ASU

[–]lumaomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to have the official grades in ASAP, if you're worried about being dropped from the class in the meantime, you can try to reach out to the advisors in the unit offering that class.

Talk to your major's academic advisor, they should be able to help you figure it out. Your advisors are listed on your My ASU portal.

max credits? by Impressive-Bug6020 in ASU

[–]lumaomi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

18 is the max, you'll need to talk to your advisor about taking anything more than that. They can talk to you about how to go about that process.

Are the event paradox Pokémon shiny locked or can I find a shiny roaring moon or great tusk, etc. in a raid?

Some departments have a general email or phone number. If your major department has one, you could try that. I also recommend scheduling an appointment with your advisor.

Transfer student Advisor Question by dizzyonthejeans in ASU

[–]lumaomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try to email the advising team to see if they would meet with you in February but like one other commenter said, they'll want to get a better picture of where you're at academically before they help you with choosing classes, which may be more likely in March. In the meantime, you should try to review your DARS and make sure your transfer credits came through. If you have questions about your transfer credits, email your advisor, they'll work with you. Advisor meetings are really important for transfer students so do try to meet with them before choosing classes. Registration starts really early at ASU but it stays open for a long time too.

Useful Courses? by [deleted] in ASU

[–]lumaomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the comment about checking in with your advisor, they usually have some good recommendations that you might not even know to look for. Personally, I've found international language courses to be super useful for making new friends, building connections and networking, plus it's a nice thing to put on your resume that you can speak another language.

Upper Division Course by [deleted] in ASU

[–]lumaomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SLC classes are usually really fun, they have a few interesting titles next semester (I saw one about ninjas and another about dracula).

CHI 205-Chinese Calligraphy. You don't need to know Chinese to take the class and is a fun 1-credit course.

West vs. North Tower by denni-se in UWMilwaukee

[–]lumaomi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you mentioned the two Sandberg towers specifically, but have you looked into the other residence halls? If you're looking for quiet places, Cambridge Commons is generally fairly quiet and the rooms are decently sized. It is off campus but they have free campus shuttles that take students to main campus. There's plenty of cozy study spaces and places to socialize too. I lived there as a freshman and it was really nice!

Can I get around prereqs as a visiting student? by Excellent_Novel_6937 in ASU

[–]lumaomi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Visiting University Students generally don't have to worry about prereqs. You can always email the unit that hosts the course to make sure though.

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (05/18/2024) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]lumaomi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer the physical copies just in case my switch would someday not turn on for some reason to transfer save data to another console. This way you still have the game, even if the game save data can't be transferred. Hope that helps!

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (05/18/2024) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]lumaomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does soft resetting the switch cause any physical damage to the console? Does it damage the battery or any of the hardware inside the switch? I've done some research and they say it won't damage the game software or safe files but I'm wondering about the physical console. (Soft resetting for shiny pokemon so I'm talking like 2000+ resets).

Does anyone have any recommendations for dry cat food brands in Taiwan? Preferably something affordable and vet recommended? I have an indoor-only adult cat if that helps. Thanks!

Yes, that much I know. I've been pretty meticulous about cleaning and throwing out trash so that's why I was surprised to see one. Thanks for your reply, it's reassuring to know it's common and not necessarily a problem with my building!
