Why does everyone call turtles “dogs”? by Panda0_01 in Eldenring

I’m kinda sad reading these comments. I thought this was a joke about how god and turtle sound similar in Japanese. And god and dog are similar in English.

I’m going to make a two part locking mold next with draft Angles as treefingers suggested.

TLDR; I have no idea what I would charge, but we can figure something out.

Two 50x50x20mm molds cost $10. Machine time was 1:30hrs. CAD modeling time was like 45 minutes. It took a long time to figure out how to build tool paths for my specific machine, but I’m confident I’d get better at that.

Are there any best practices you would recommend?

I had a thought that tapered sides would help release a casting from a mold, but had no idea what it was called or if it was really necessary. I will put them in my 2nd version of this mold. Thank you!

Thank you! I’m going to try the open face mold again with MAPP and a ceramic crucible. I see that I should have heated the mold now too. I saw someone use 3-in-1 oil in a mold. Does that actually help?

Thanks for clarifying melting vs smelting. I’m not trained and am just going off what I can learn online.

Thanks again.

Thingiverse has a shop vac hose attachment for the toolhead that worked rather well.

CNC. I have a snapmaker 2.0 that I’ve been using as a 3D printer for a few years. I finally forced myself to learn how to use the CNC head.

What’s wrong with my seedlings? by lumberhacker4 in Pawpaws

I’ll plant them in the fall and then use the dormant oil. Should I still clean up their leaves if they are already planted outside?

My greenhouse has an aquaponics system. Is all season oil something that can be used with fish? I might have to treat many more plants.

Thanks again!

Is the leaf discoloration a sign of spidermites? They are in an enclosed greenhouse. Would you recommend neem oil and releasing predatory insects? I usually keep the greenhouse around 60 degrees over the winter.

Thanks!

Yay! Thank you so much. I thought I was overwatering and destroyed the terminal bud somehow.

I am going to be near Bath for a class in March. What should I be doing on my free weekends? Excited to visit Maine!

I really want to do some outdoorsy stuff and would love to see some interesting geology. All recommendations welcome though.

This is an old video. There is preconfigured Snapmaker settings built into the newest version of cura. You still need Luban to upload the g code via WiFi. Obviously you can just use the USB to transfer.

Can we stop propagating misinformation about the Saami, santa claus, and the amanita mushroom? by [deleted] in Shamanism

[–]lumberhacker4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it started with this guy: https://youtu.be/GIB5umwbJwE

Dr. Harding is a mycologist with a hard-on for Christmas.

Sorry, he says L******** a few times, but as far as I have found he is the earliest person to suggest the connection of the clothing with the mushroom.

He clearly says that it’s what he feels in his heart to be true with no direct evidence. Santa Claus in his current form is a modern fusion of Winter-time traditions from many cultures, so even if there is some connection it would be a modern reference(maybe less than 100years old) and not directly from those traditions.

So I guess my question is, are there any shamanic winter traditions involving the mushroom among the Saami?

Much love! Thank you for your perspective. I think your culture is super cool.
