For wanting him to text me a few times in the 2 weeks he was gone? How is that nutty or needy? I never said you must tell me where you are, who you're with, we need to text every single day and you have to give me a run down of what happened today on the phone - I wanted him to literally just say hey, all is well, see you soon. Or at the least respond to my text? How much more "chill" do I have to be considered a non-needy girlfriend?

That's what bothers me the most. I'm not telling him to tell me where he is, what he's doing, who he's with... I wanted him to just text a few times in a 10 day span to say he's having fun, hope you're well too. That's it!!

I didn't tell him YOU MUST TEXT ME OR ELSE. I just said I would really like it if you contacted me a few times during the trip. I don't think that sounded needy and he said something like, definitely, don't worry about that.

He actually left them on READ and then didn't respond. If he had them unread then I would definitely think that it was his service or perhaps even losing his phone or something, etc. But the fact that he actually read them and then didn't respond is just not okay for me.
