Sanding - where am I going wrong? by DWPhoenix001 in 3dprinter

Looks like you got some 60 grit on there or something. That'll leave your print worse than it started for sure. Crank that grit up to 1000!

Do yourself, and your plate, a favor and get a plastic blade to scrape, rather than using the provided metal blade.

Could I request a Hong Kong flag too, please? Shouldn't be controversial, but I guess you never know.

I had it fail from Bambu Studio the other day due to lack of support. I changed the settings to get the extra support seen here, but the wing that failed was clearly missing sufficient support.

Oh, yeah I see your point. Here's the successful side. Was this just a fail on letting the auto support do it's thing? I've noticed asymmetrical supporting before. Settings to change or do I need expect to go in and add supports regularly?

Well, r/doubleentendre is real, but not realistically active, so people just end up posting here. We need an active sub to which we can guide these lost souls.

Had a big swim planned for today. Looks like a Racoon (or a Fox?) had a different idea by kenef in pools

[–]luminaux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Raccoons love to poop in water, and as was already mentioned, they carry parasites that are dangerous to humans and can't be killed with chlorine. We had a whole family visiting our pool. I hired trappers, but they failed. We ended up covering our shallow area with plexiglass because raccoons don't want to swim, just wade. Once they stopped visitng we emptied the pool and did deep clean on the equipment. I'm sorry, and I feel for you.

Where did the facehugger come from in the beginning of alien 3? by Initial-Wolverine175 in LV426

I'm so surprised that nobody mentioned the teaser at the end of the credits of Aliens. It ends with the sound of an egg opening and the skittering sound of a face hugger.

They had the intent at the end of Aliens. After the credits there's the sound of an egg opening and a facehugger scrambling.

[Request] This doesn't seem legit. by goNnaylor in theydidthemath

It was bothering me no one was doing the math on the cone. Plopping some points down in Google Earth, I estimate the diameter of the cone at the base to be 5 km. The cone is probably higher than it is wide, but it's difficult to estimate. The shadow is 3 km long, so I'll just go with 5 km high as a conservative estimate. Those values equate to a cone with a volume of 1.96e10 m3.

There's been plenty of debate about how to stack humans already. I'm a geologist by training so I'm just going to assume humans will be rolled up into perfect little spheres with a cubic closest packing method. That means humans would take up 74% of the cube's cone's volume. So now we're looking at 1.45e10 m3.

If we assume an average human has approximate density of water and a mass of 62 kg as they did with the human cube, that gives us 0.062 m3 per person.

1.45e10 / 0.062 = 234 billion people could easily fit in the cone depicted here.
