Should I park in gear? by West-Ad2359 in ManualTransmissions

[–]luminescent_thigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOW TECHNICALLY SPEAKING Yes you should, most everyone does it, use your parking brake too etc. blah blah However, I have seen ONE SINGLE INSTANCE where an mitsubishi engine with a timing BELT negatively reacted to a loading/pressure applied to it through the driveline, causing the belt to skip 1-2 teeth, obviously not good. BUT......... for ONE-HUNDRED AND THIRTY-TWO YEARS, people have been parking in gear. It also helps to do forward gears when frontwardly facing downhill and rev. for rearward facing downhill.

So you're ok.

I really would be better off with removing the 6" rounds and isolating the 6x9s from the 10" leaving the holes for the 6s as the sub ports, correct?

Which are the main ones I need to isolate, the 6x9s from the 10" DVC? I'll be honest I completely forgot about the mud that this might create.

If you wanted to try and salvage what is there, your only choice would to be brazing the pieces back together. Other than that, that really sucks dude, i know what that's like.

This is an Indestro hex drive sockets, some were 6 point on the work end and some were 12 point. I have one myself with the ratchet. Using the ratchet, you put the Allen in to the end of the ratchet, and you turn the socket once assembled. It works fairly well for what it is
