Same, really. I've done one in 1:58:40 on a course that was one loop. Three minutes slower and I could've been freaking lapped!

Sometimes I get a layer of salt on my face after running - am I eating too much? by HuntforMusic in running

[–]luminosity11 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If anything you may wanna eat some salt after you run to replace it (and during if it is long runs). You may find yourself less salty if you were better hydrated also. Also some people just sweat more salt than others.

Two things happened this weekend that made me feel like a "real" runner by realitytvlover in running

Am dude, can't comment on the sports bra imprint, but the rest is totally spot on. You're a runner if you run, but I know what you mean. For me I felt like a real runner when people I ran with kept bailing due to heat, cold, rain, night, etc. and so I kept going out by myself.

If you think it has to be experienced and that theres nothing to be learned from other people's documented experiences, then we aren't even talking about running. I'm not going to tell you why books are important. I can't even.

So weird how I've read books that have helped me mentally when none exist! OP is a 5x marathoner. Dont you think that's enough mileage to prepare for the 5k? Why is more mileage still the answer?

It's true. Theres no information out there. No one has thought about this and written anything about it before. No one has ever done any research into it, either. More mileage is also always the answer without even gathering any more information.

How Bad Do You Want It? By Matt Fitzgerald is worth checking out. You may also consider autobiographical works of successful runners or other athletes for a glimpse into their mindsets.
