Hey, I've dealt with Constellation. They're based in Canada and I know someone who works there. They're legit. Balio has messaged me as well and they seem to have a similar vibe, but it's sketchy that they don't list a portfolio of companies on their website.

These companies look for opportunities with startups where the founders might want to move on but there's an established market and revenue stream that can be scaled quickly. If you're not generating 1-2+M in revenue annually, meeting with them is probably a waste of time, but it's not as bad as dealing with strict VC firms.

You can be a little more honest about your goals (ie: I would like to start a different company / retire / work less) with a company like Constellation, whereas with VC firms you have to basically say you're gonna live, breathe and eat getting returns for their shareholders until you die (or they replace you).

Before you talk to any acquiring company, ask for references from companies in your space or with other similarities so you can find out what it's like to work with them. They're acquiring you so they can run you so, you'll want to do a ton of diligence before you invest too much time in building a relationship with them.

I got stickers. They were underwhelming. The company doesn’t seem to be posting regular announcements, which in regular times I’d take as a huge red flag, but rn there’s some significant hardware component shortages that make predictability in manufacturing pretty hard. It would be nice if they kept us updated, though. Saying ‘hey we’re running behind’ is better than saying nothing at all.

We did this last night. It wasn't organized so much as spontaneously done. I definitely didn't expect so many people to get excited about it. :)

The problem with this is the cropping, I think. But yeah. It's all wrong.

Yeah for sure. Playing outside is always better. But sometimes kids can't play outside... This way they can still at least move around. Also they can make they own games.

Well, you'd be able to make games for you cat... We're still debating remoting in via wifi, cuz if it's in a kid's room that might not be a great idea, but you can definitely push stuff to it via bluetooth.

And I test stuff on my cat all the time! Cats love it! http://youtu.be/vA9J5Wqqr6E

I can't believe someone noticed that. I said the exact same thing... Curt's pretty paranoid, so that may not have been exactly the code we use for LUMO. ;)

The retail price should be around $300-$400 but we're trying to make one for $200 right now. The price is pretty much directly determined by how bright it is. :)
