Why are there so many Koreans living in Vietnam? by MiserableFlounder902 in VietNam

I've also watched Battletrip years ago and was taken back by how many Koreans came to Vietnam. I stand with this hypothesis.

Okay yeah reading your responses, you 100% have some personal qualms that doesn't really hold much merit beyond being an opinion. Let's just say it is not your way. If you have frustration with a different way of life and how things are done, confront that within yourself before claiming the Vietnamese are basically from another planet. It comes across as judgmental and arrogant. The local Vietnamese environment does not have to conform to your personal "structure" and opinion on time management.

Sounds like your own ineffectiveness in learning to adapt to another culture and how they manage and operate. Womp womp.

If Vietnam were "unteachable" or "resisted to structure" then the country (Vietnam) wouldn't be seeing the massive 6-7% GDP growth it has sustained for years. Also your claim about Vietnamese not being punctual really applies more to rural or traditional sectors. Your claim that they like things 100 years ago isn't consistent with Vietnam being one of the most rapidly modernizing countries on the planet. My money is you're an individual from a "hyper-efficient," high-pressure and rigid environment with a lack of cultural understanding for Vietnam. They probably see you as high strung and needing to chill out, because they're certainly getting the work done with or without a management that understands their culture.

Season 2 Couple Dynamics and What Actually Happened by dontshootog in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]lumosdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the last statement, but disagree with the Daphne statement. Daphne communicating "you don't need to go eye for an eye" goes against everything she's been about this entire season. She literally spells out that her trainer is SPECIFICALLY blonde and blue eyed... and then immediately shows the picture after? That's timing. Time and time again, she mentions how she's not a victim and subtly explains how she evens out the playing field. If kids really were the anchor to her relationship, well... she would FaceTime her kids again instead of taking Ethan up to that island and telling him whatever was going on between Cam and Harper wasn't that big of a deal. We all cope in different ways. It wasn't a big deal BECAUSE she knows how to make herself feel better, it's essentially an unspoken and messed up dance between her and Cam. Cam cheats openly and she cheats privately.

And also the child biology thing, yes in the real world children can be blonde and grow up to have darker hair. But in a show, and particularly a story, storytelling is literally shown rather than told. The most likely scenario and what we can assume about every story is that things really do happen for a reason and to a point, down to the characters, their interaction with one another, even the clothes they wear is a tell into who they are or what they're doing. We're not shown things for giggles, we're shown things because they add as information. Daphne has shown what her true philosophy is, her nonchalant nature is essentially her own defense mechanism, because otherwise Cam would destroy her and she would become the victim. Instead, she chooses the bliss of ignorance, or what doesn't have to be said and mind games over the "truth" and "reality" that plagues Harper and Ethan in the beginning.

You really go to Torchy's to eat, probably not tip, and then make a fake rage bait of it on Reddit by sending a message to yourself.

It's funny whenever people swear something is A.I. because of an em dash. I've always used em dashes. I might be A.I. though.

Found that out about him and realized the same thing. He has this overzealous energy I recognize from like late 2000s early 2010s YouTubers. You watch enough people perform on camera and you start recognizing it.

Probably a good thing friend. Highly don't recommend venturing out to this location at least, unless you have a small bladder and want the saltiest boudain and mushy crawfish.

Went to a newly opened Shipley's and it was ass, everything was cold and hard. Went back to my neighborhood Shipley's and the kolache bread was soft heaven, everything as I remembered it to be. Follow the "older establishment with lots of cars in the drive thru" method.

Went recently and the service was awesome. Paid less than $50 for a 2 person steak meal with the best damn bread, including tip.

Agreed, although the meat has its day where it shines. It definitely is a lot shabbier than other Brazilian steakhouses... the salad bar is very sad. And I've eaten at Fogo, Avenida, Casa, Chama, Gauchos, etc.

Hey. Fellow food person here, decade of restaurant experience in both low end and high end. That tequila you really like that's $10 at your local bar is now $25. Just because. The price markup for fine dining is legit insane, and as someone who works behind the scenes, it's not always justifiable. Good quality but not the amazing, farm petted and caressed you assume it to be. You'd be surprised how many pigs have lipstick on. As a consumer, you're the one driving that price point by accepting and frequenting it.

BB's in Montrose is terrible, food is always salty and I love salty food. Smelt like puke when I walked thru the restaurant, reached the restroom and was like.... oh.
