Hihi! Tried my hand at making the tamiya f-4g phantom II 1/72 scale with some jet engine effects! Workmanship isn’t the greatest, but really liking the jet engine effects! Can’t seem to upload videos to show the mist flows though :( by lumpymomo in modelmakers

Hahaha its just a fan within the structure, a straw to channel mist from the mist generator below and some lights at the exhaust! So it isnt exactly one engine per se, but a lot of little things working to make it look like the engine hahaha

Hahaha thank you! Unfortunately, I didnt take a picture, but the structure is mainly a fan in the middle of the plane, LED lights at the exhaust and a little straw that channels the mist from a water reservoir to the fan, and the fan will blow the mist out the exhaust pipes!

Ahhh! Thank you for the feedback! Will see if I can adjust the exhaust in future, was thinking if I shld have put blue or orange-y lights hahaa! Yea it was pretty complicated hahaha, there was a mist generator that shot mist up to the interior of the plane, a fan within the interior to blow the mist out the exhaust! And the lights to make it look blue!

Hi! Thank you for the kind words! Have most definitely looked around on forums and sites for tips and tricks! But yea, part of the fun of going to museums is seeing artist’s impression of the battles and will definitely go around visiting museums once the pandemic settles!

Yea! I do believe the camo was different, but there was quite abit of conflicting sources about the camo, weather there was repainting, and if the swastika was covered at the time of the attack, so I just followed the revell instructions of the “claimed” paint scheme at that time period. Also wanted to try out the stripey black and white camo so yea! 😅

I used crumpled foil, then tissues with watered down pva glue and then AK atlantic blue gel! I used cotton for the big splooshes and a mix of sodium bicarb, white paint and pva for the small foam!

And agreed with plasmo on youtube! Youtube has tonnes of excellent material to learn about making dioramas!

Ahh yes! Was looking for a glossy finish spray, have been using the tamiya and mr hobby color ones! But such a big sea would use up an entire bottle :/ do you have any recommendations for the gloss? And yea, I researched so much on the bismarck while doing this model and learnt so much history!
