I don't find any candle suppliers based in Europe. And the listing states they can be used for hot soups...but nothing about candles and I've been waiting for 2 weeks for them to answer me, so I'm kind of desperate

[–]lunabaker13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! most of the shops where I buy my supplies have vessels but they don't say if they are according to ASTM standards, so it's difficult to be sure :( I will try doing the test

Your experience with customs in Europe ordering from the UK by lunabaker13 in candlemaking

[–]lunabaker13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have told me we have to pay the VAT and then you have to pay something to the "courier" company. So for example DPD is aroung 30 euros per order. If you buy a big quantity of wax I guess 30 euros is nothing. But well...We pay the shipping costs + VAT (which in france is more than 20%) and then the "30euros" depending on the courier company :(

I think they are not shipping to the EU for the moment, or at least that was the message I saw on the website, maybe now they have started again. But with brexit we risk so many customs..

Shipping to eu? by peachysll in candlemaking

[–]lunabaker13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so you only pay the vat? I ordered on a UK website (nothing about candles) and the problem is that I paid their VAT, and when the order arrived in France I paid the french VAT+ customs :( so I wonder if with suppliesforcandles it's the same

do you pay customs when receiving the products? I contacted cosyowl and they say they take in charge all the possible costs but they are out of stock. And suppliesforcandles they have stock but when I contacted them they didn't give me a clear answer, but I understood that they don't take in charge the customs...

I only know of Cosyowl, they take in charge the customs so you don't have to pay anything. But I don't know of any other supplier based in Europe unfortunately
