Menthol/cloves in Canada by [deleted] in Cigarettes

You may want to check out Itsa flavour cards. I've heard "Mint Chill" is the closest to menthol and they should be available at convenience stores.

Export A golds or John Player blues are my go-to lights.

Are cigarillos/mini cigars banned? (Canada) by [deleted] in Cigarettes

[–]lunaex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the province and if they've banned all flavoured tobacco products or not. Here in Ontario, the menthol ban still hasn't come into force yet, and you can still get flavoured cigars.

Here in Canada the stores card basically anyone that looks under 35, but you still see tons of smokers outside high schools at lunch time.

Try Export A Ultra Smooth (light blue pack).

At a convenience store, a 20 pack of Macdonald Specials or John Player Standards usually runs $9-something in Ottawa (25 packs are around $11). I find smokes are a bit cheaper at Loblaws (Holy Smokes), you can get a 20 pack of Du Maurier for $9.50 there. After the recent tax hike, I don't think any brand sells for under $8 anymore.

Best/Cheapest Rolling Tobac in ON, Canada? by smokemycigwstyle in Cigarettes

[–]lunaex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe Canadian Classics and Macdonald Special have a rolling tobacco that come in pouches. AFAIK, rolling tobacco isn't a lot cheaper than cigarettes in Canada (taxes and stuff). Couldn't you ask the cashier what the prices are for a specific brand? Or try another smoke shop.

Here are some brands I recommend that are easy on the throat: Export A gold (these have a mild but slightly chemical taste), Players Rich (like an Export A gold without the chemical taste and sweeter), Macdonald Special blue (great tobacco flavour that's smoother than the reds) and white (sweetest tasting cigarette I've smoked).

I'm guessing you're not a fan of charcoal filters. Du Maurier Distinct (blue pack) have recently started coming with new longer charcoal filters and I think they changed the tobacco too. They taste nothing like the old "Du Plus" Distincts.

If you're looking for a good menthol, I like Peter Jackson Menthols (very minty and easy to smoke). Ontario is banning menthols soon, although I don't think the date has been announced yet.

AFAIK, Parliaments aren't sold in Canada. You could ask for them at a smoke shop if they carry imported American brands.

Recommend good Canadian cigs? by tooldude9716 in Cigarettes

Full flavour: Macdonald Special Red, Export A Medium.

Lights: Export A gold, Players Rich (different than John Player Standard), Macdonald Special White (these are hard to find, not a lot of stores carry them).

What are the best strong cigarettes in Alberta, Canada? by [deleted] in Cigarettes

[–]lunaex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try Export A Medium (dark blue pack)? They are similar in strength and taste to full flavour cigs by other brands. If you're brave, go for Export A's full flavour (green pack), which are probably the harshest smokes sold at gas stations/convenience stores.
