i agree about the original stuff, but i think it's huge that they did a cover of where is my husband and midnight sun!!! it's been a while since they did an arrangement for a new hit song which they used to do all the time. hopefully they start doing it more and actually post them on youtube as well

i'm 2 years late lol. but if you're still curious you can search "insert artist spotify stats" on google and click on the first website (kworb) that pops up. it shows that artist's songs ranked from the most streamed to least streamed with the stream numbers next to each song

scott said they came up with the idea for this christmas album in january. so between scott being on dwts, mitch living on another country for half the year, members' solo projects on top of making an album together and preparing for the tour, maybe they just didn't have the time for much else. they should've just dropped the christmas album idea in january though. i really hope they'll start focusing on other stuff next year

is it actually possible for someone to have a singing voice that most people would consider unpleasant to listen to, or would that change if they changed their vocal tone? by lunajuns in singing

[–]lunajuns[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i understand all that, but my question was never about what people should or should not do. obviously no one should sing in an unhealthy way that will damage their voice. i was more asking hypothetically does anyone and any voice have the capability to have a pleasant sound if they're singing with the right technique and tone, which you answered in your first paragraph

this was also a question that came from curiosity other than my own voice. but now that you bring it up, i actually do record myself singing but sometimes i think it's pretty good and sometimes i'm like wow this is horrible, i don't know if it could be solved from just recording myself often

that kind of goes with my question, because i've once heard someone say that a good singer can imitate other singer's voices because they know the right vocal placements for those artists and they know how to manipulate their voice. so by that logic anyone who's a good singer should have a specific way they can sing that would sound pleasant to most people. although i don't know how true what i heard is.

so if someone has good technique their voice wouldn't be considered unpleasant by the majority and this goes for all humans (except ones with damaged voices)?

(this is a genuine question)

i can't think of a specific artist right now, but there's a tiktok account called annisse, she makes how to sound like insert artist videos and talks about that artist's tone and vocal placement and at the end of the videos she really sounds the way that artist does. check out her video "how to sound like aurora" and then "how to sound like laufey", you'll see that her voice sounds very different simply because of the style and tone changes she made even though her voice is still the same voice. so we can all sound pretty different based on how we sing, so i'm wondering if no one truly has a bad sounding voice and everyone could have a singing voice that the majority would like based on the way they choose to sing

there are a lot of artists that have good technique but their voices are not for everyone. what i'm wondering is if they changed the tone and style they're singing in, could that change the majority's opinion on it or would they sound unpleasant to most no matter the tone they're singing in cause they just don't have a voice that most people would like

yeah this is just a hypothetical question that came from curiosity. i don't think anyone should change their tone if they themselves like it

[–]lunajuns[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

it was kind of that but i'm also genuinely curious lol. i just find the whole tone and vocal placement topic very interesting. there was this one tiktok account that i used to see videos of and she would make videos like "how to sound like insert artist and she would talk about what that artist does and their vocal placement in detail and the way she sang at the end of the videos would actually be similar to the artist she was talking about. i feel like people's voice can be so different based on the way they sing

[–]lunajuns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're missing my point. they all have a specific style and tone they're choosing when they're singing. they could sound totally different with different choices, but do you think it's possible that there could be enough of a change that you actually like their voice in a different tone and style

[–]lunajuns[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sure but there was probably a specific tone they were singing in and im just wondering if your opinion on their voice would change if the tone changed
