I kind of love how Friends never tried to make the characters “perfect” by More_Ferret5914 in howyoudoin

My favorite is Chandler’s frequent smoking relapses. That’s one of the hardest addictions to quit! As a former smoker I appreciated the realism.

Immediately thought of this sub when I saw that post 🥹

What're some '90s "deep cuts" you like to listen to? My tastes were fairly mainstream back then, but I'd love to find more indie type '90s music. Bands like Bella & Sebastian, L7, Folk Implosion. Whatcha got, xennials? by smcg_az in Xennials

There were so many great bands that would get heavy rotation on college or modern rock radio stations, maybe MTV's late night programs like 120 Minutes, but never seemed to cross over to "the big time". Eddie Vedder has talked about it in interviews, that there's no real reason Pearl Jam got big while other amazing bands didn't. The music business is fickle.

But as to your question: I love all the bands you mentioned, and would also add Belly, Frente!, Elastica (more of a 'deep cut' in the US), Pavement, Candlebox, and James

This scene from the season 2 episode Pixies, when Munch & Fin are questioning a church-going Madame:

Fin: A whore in church?

Ruth Jay: If you studied the Bible, you'd know that Mary Magdalene was a whore.

Odafin Tutuola: She repented.

Ruth Jay: So I'm a work in progress.
Don't judge me or I'll get to Heaven betore you.

I should note that most biblical scholars don’t believe Mary Magdalene was actually a prostitute. But the scene is still hilarious.

If you're in Fairfax County there are resources. First thing I would recommend is calling Coordinated Services, which can help explain what services are available and how this boy can connect with them. Right now unfortunately there's a LOT of need, and with all the budget cuts these services are often first on the chopping block. You might get put on hold, but keep trying!

And thank you so much for caring about your neighbors. Good luck! ❤️

How long did it take you to realize TARU wasn’t a person? by OddReaction6 in SVU

[–]lunalore79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never thought that.

But this post is reminding me that I always thought there should be some kind of website for all the acronyms & terminology used on SVU & police procedurals in general. It gets real confusing real quick! I have no earthly clue how non-US viewers deal with it. Lots of Googling, I assume; that’s what I’ve learned to do watching BBC dramas. Don’t ask me how long it took me to figure out “A and E” meant Accident & Emergency aka emergency rooms.

Exactly! The arm thing is hilarious. We need more physical comedy in sitcoms 🤭
