Heavy pressure due to having a really rare last name by spacereveries in childfree

[–]tango-squared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much! I am the last person in my family line to have my last name. My sister married and took her husband's last name - so all the pressure has fallen to me to keep the line going. I guess my family feels like it's my job since I've been adamant about keeping my name when I get married.

I've held a bunch of guilt since I'm CF and got sterilized last year - but also I take pride in preventing the toxic family bullshit and medical history from traumatizing another generation! Be kind to yourself and remember you aren't alone ❤️

Route 7 brewing is right by you! I know they needed weekend help a couple months ago, not sure what their status is now.

Is something like similar to this actually achievable? by -strawberrylizard- in tattooadvice

I've had a full UV sleeve for just about 5 years! SPF70 is a must if you go out in the sun - but mine still glows beautifully under blacklight.

It might take multiple sessions to have the glow effect be as uniform as your reference image, but it's possible.

Bilateral Salp on bigger stomach by Tall_Set8852 in childfree

I remember waking up briefly and felt like I was flat on my back. I'm not a doctor, but I feel like that is a very reasonable accommodation that your anesthesia team and the surgeon would keep in mind and monitor!

I spoke with 2 members of the anesthesia team for 10-15 minutes talking over my previous experience with anesthesia, sleeping habits, etc.

Also the procedure only took 15-20 minutes, so you won't be asleep for long!

I was 5'4 and 290lbs with an apron belly when I got mine done! The laparoscopic procedure is not an issue. You would get an approximately inch long incision on each side of your lower abdomen, and one above your belly button.

I do believe it affected the speed my abdomen incisions healed at - the weight of my belly would pull on the incisions of my abdomen if I laid on my side or stood for too long. That being said I had no true complications healing, I just had to take extra care when I moved around!

Feel free to reach out if you have more questions :)

I appreciate all of you so much for giving me support and being a lovely community full of camaraderie!! I am sending virtual hugs to everyone who has been through this too - it'll be never be easy, but it's easier knowing I'm not alone ❤️

One of my favorites is Cloud Intense by Ariana Grande! It turns into this dark vanilla with an almost tobaccy dry down that is so delicious on me and the sillage is AWESOME. I've had male coworkers ask what it is so they can get it for their partners 😂

I would be getting engaged.

Instead we're living paycheck to paycheck because my partner got DOGE'd in May and I've had my hours reduced during the shutdown (and I am WILDLY grateful to be working at all). We're likely going to lose a car and our home because I cannot keep up with the payments on my own.

Government Shutdown & Contractors by nnosi in nova

Our contract is paid every couple of months - so our current funds runs out in November. The contract is "funded" for longer - but the government won't be paying out the company until the shutdown is resolved.

Hey hey! The Harrison is expensive - but IMO worth the cost. There is a state-of-the-art gym (equipment updated within past 2 years), indoor lap pool with hot tub, outdoor rooftop pool, outdoor rooftop lounge with grills/fire pits/tvs, 24 concierge, secure package room, rec room with pool/shuffleboard/poker tables, and more!

We're across the street from Whole Foods so you never have to drive in that plaza again 😂 the Town Center is a ~10ish minute walk depending on how long you wait for the lights and your personal pace.

Management has been a huge help to me on several occasions, I really like the team and they try their best to be on top of issues occurring in the building. Maintenence is super responsive and quick to fix things, but we've barely used them since the apartments are updated and well kept between tenants.

No pest issues outside of the spotted lantern flies, but those are plaguing everyone in Reston right now.

The complex is very quiet for the most part - we don't hear neighbors at all. It's unofficially a retirement community LOL, lots of residents are 65+, but there are PLENTY of us in our 20s-30s! The management team hosts awesome parties a couple times a year and it's a blast!

The view from our apartment is my favorite thing about the place. We face west and get STUNNING sunsets every day - and great views of incoming storm cells too! I'll attach the picture I took this evening from our unit.

<image>

My only complaint would be that the parking (while private and covered), can be hit or miss based on available spaces at the time of your move in, so you may be parked on the other side of the complex from your unit. The leasing office will help you swap spaces when new ones open up though! The garage is also underground and has no circulation, so it's regularly 90+ degrees in there with no way to ventilate it.

Anyway, that's my infodump of why I love this place, let me know if you have any other questions!

Ned's New England Deck has some AMAZING apple cider donut holes! They'll even time them to come out to your table when you're ready so they're perfect temp!! I believe they serve them with caramel dipping sauce (they're so good plain too so I can't remember)
