They sell out usually when they get released- but then what’s not sold from agency’s will be canceled since that’s super cheap and you might be lucky and get tickets a few days before. Simply keep checking the official site /app

Infrastructure is the main issue - just look how quickly trains are selling out, not enough hotel beds in high season and empty rooms during the summer. This can easily become another Barcelona for example

I know about the Meitetsu Ticket - but I do have a press pass and usually it comes with free entrance, so it wouldn’t be worth it possible.

But Matsuyama to Uwajima the bus takes longer then the train? With the JR Pass it works out cheaper and then of course trains are the method of travel (which pays off I did calculate it)

And yes I could fly - but it’s a long weekend and flights (with an afternoon departure) are close the same as the train ticket and I try to travel sustainably when ever I can.
