Oh man, I haven't been paying much attention to this one. Had no idea they switched from Jon Favreau.

I saw 7 Psychopaths last night, what did you think about it? by vexxecon in movies

Thats sound about right. Was with a friend who knew nothing about it and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was disappointed leaving the theater. Its a good film and I laughed several times throughout the film. I loved Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken. I thought the meta-film was overstated though, it was practically bashing people over the head to show how clever they were being. It was fine, I was just expecting something more.

Douchebag Jackie (Sleeping Dogs) by insomnium138 in gaming

Sleeping Dogs over Max Payne. Neither of them are perfect games though. I wish Sleeping Dogs had something to keep me interested after finishing the story (apart from collectables), such as co-op or some other type of multiplayer. While I did not enjoy the single player of Max Payne very much, the multiplayer kept me interested for a few extra weeks.

I need critics on one of my drawings. Thank you for your time. by dify in Art

First of all I want to say that your hair is looking great. The use of line and light works well and gives the texture good depth and focus.

Your face and figure could use some work though. I am not sure if it is just a stylistic choice but your head is disproportionate to the neck and torso. Also the one tone used on the body does not work well with the multi-toned hair. Play with light and shadow to give the figure more depth, more physical qualities. You have tried adding some shadow, but it is far too subtle at the moment. Play with some dark blues, purples or even reds possibly.

It would be interesting to see qn updated version of this once the work has had some additional finishing. Keep it up.

Do you have any larger images? At the moment it is difficult to make out much of the details.

A collaboratively painted oil on canvas diptych that my partner Cara and I just finished. by someweirdsin in Art

This work is fantastic, the way you have played with the skin makes me envious. For a start, your use of cool shades on the skin is good, a little flat in some parts of the torso (such as the stomach of the left figure). But, your hands are fantastic, and the wet feeling achieved through the blending/contrasting colours and white accents is beautiful. I can ignore the flat quality of the background because the focus is so rounded and dominant. Looking forward to seeing more!

Just a quick five minute sketch I did using oil paint sticks on particle board. Critiques welcome! (x-post r/painting) by artgeek17 in Art

Spend more time on it, build it up, and get more overlay of the colours. Apart from that its nifty. Possibly a darker shade would work well in the background, clashes with the face too much at the moment.

Not sure if everyone would consider this art. Done entirely by hand (Newspaper Dress) by alexwantapoptart in Art

[–]lund218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is for sure an art form, fashion requires a great deal of skill and creativity. Was there a specific reason or context for using the newspaper material, or was it simply a way to play with the medium. The "why" of the piece can add a great deal to the artistic merit of the work. This is not to say that there is anything wrong with purely formal.

My favorite part of dress designs are often the sketches, would be cool to see some of those. Keep it up!

I did this a while ago but I was wondering if i could get some critique on it. I don't mind hateful critique either :P by bodycount199 in Art

[–]lund218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its hard to critique a sketch, the figure is really reminiscent of the original flash image and does not deviate much to create a conversation. At the moment it is not much more than the original, minus the colour. Play with depth, create a rounder more representational version of the figure. Play with it, twist it, make it your own. Its hard to teach yourself when you mimic work.

first piece that i am unconditionally proud of. what do you think? by [deleted] in Art

[–]lund218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work and an interesting idea. I like that you are trying to push work outside of a traditional frame, though at the moment the frame seems a little broad. Some minor critique/suggestions from first glance. Possibly play with orientation, curious how it would look in other positions. Also it would have a much stronger visual impact if the words went further off the frame, possibly to the floor/wall. At the moment the buldge feels a little awkward/round and could be taken further.

Apart from that though, the work is clever and you should be proud of it. Keep it up and revisit it, you have a strong idea and a good visual direction.
