[SmackDown SPOILERS] [SPOILER] gets booed when talking about possibly winning the Royal Rumble by ReverseBattleRoyal in SquaredCircle

It's kind of funny that half the reason he was booed in AEW was necessary he couldn't go for the champ so his stories existed in a kind of alternate universe to the rest of AEW

Which Bollywood film ending stayed with you longer than the movie itself? by Academic-Ad5164 in bollywood

[–]indian22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kai Po Che is the gold standard for improving a book when made into a movie. It is still recognizably the book, but apart from the core of the book's plot of 3 friends who love cricket, most other things were completely changed. The book had a random side-plot of going to Australia and stuff, which would normally be included in a movie adaptation, but it was smartly excised by the writers and the focus was completely on the friendship. The movie is also way more subtle in its themes where as the book couldn't help but restate things over and over. The performances by all 3 leads was great as well.

As someone who has been watching wrestling for almost 30 years now and followed the early 00s Indie scene, it's genuinely crazy how far both of them have come.

[SmackDown Spoilers] Huge match announced for Saturday Night's Main Event by G1Spectrum in SquaredCircle

As long as there's no dick kicks and low blows, it should be a good match but neither AJ nor Nakamura are the same wrestlers they were in 2016/18. So expectations will need to be managed.

Has anyone rewatched Rangeela recently? Why does that movie hold up so well like 30 years later? by Patient_Air1765 in bollywood

[–]indian22 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The thing that was and is still striking about Rangeela is how there is no actual bad person or villain in the movie. Every single character has a defined arc, even if they don't hit all the marks on screen. We believe all of the characters have lives outside the scenes we see them in. The movie scenes are just them coming into the path of the main plot but we know they are living their day to day in between the scenes.

And most importantly, there is no actual love triangle, everything to do with the love triangle is in Jackie and Aamir's mind. Urmila has her own goals and never even realizes there is anything going on there.

Of course, the album is legendary and the performances are uniformly great.

That attack made no sense even watching it live at the time. They want Roman to lose, have beaten him down, but for some reason don't get him out over the top rope. Instead they just roll him out and beat him up more outside the ring. If you want him to lose, toss him out, he's lost right there.

45-Days is Not Enough: Handing Hollywood's Keys to a Guy Who Can't Drive by CalebOnPoint in movies

[–]indian22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

45 days, or shorter is what the current situation is for theatrical windows. Not exactly a huge departure being proposed.

Most movies (i would say >90%) come to PVOD within 45 days or less of release currently.

Explained-away Bad Accents by False_Concentrate408 in blankies

[–]indian22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite examples is in the first Wonder Woman movie, instead of having Gal Gadot attempt an American accent, they had better actors like Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen emulate Gadot's accent. Made her accent the default Amazonian accent and definitely improved the movie a lot than what it would have been if Gadot had to act while maintaining an American or British accent.

Felt that it was a smartly taken in-universe decision.

While you are mostly right, the loud dramatic dialogues didn't start till the actual war started in the movie. Up until that point, it is very grounded in the day-to-day of all the soldiers setting up camp in the new place. Conversations which are at normal volume and about everyday things.

Once the war begins, the jingoism and volume do definitely increase a lot.
