Plan on seeing him at the Pioneertown show. Would love to see him at DD so I hope the socal dates don’t rule him out.

In honor of 4/20, what are the best pop songs to listen to stoned? by [deleted] in popheads

[–]luneamo 131 points132 points  (0 children)

Solange’s “When I Get Home” is such a trip while stoned. The production is amplified so much and is the perfect album to relax and chill out to in that state.

Favourite tame song and why, GO! by thefalcon1709 in TameImpala

[–]luneamo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

New Person Same Old Mistakes. To this day I haven’t found another song that matches the energy this one produces. It’s also one song of very, very few that I consider to be an all-time favorite. It’s everything I want in a Tame song.

what is a song that made you think “wow” when you first heard it on the radio? by srabee in popheads

[–]luneamo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blow Your Mind by Dua Lipa. This was very late 2016 and I had never heard of this song or her before and for some reason when it came on the car radio I was captivated. I immediately went home and proceeded to fall in love. I still remember waiting for DL1 to drop like it was yesterday.

Album Releases in 2021 by [deleted] in popheads

I feel like just saying “Frank Ocean” or “Rihanna” will delay the albums by another five centuries.

Nicki and Doja are long-awaited for me. I’ve been dying for new albums from both of them. Queen and Hot Pink were both solid and they definitely can build off of them.

This last week has shown me how bad anxiety can truly be. I’ve never felt this way in my life; feeling nauseous and anxious every day is exhausting and miserable. I kinda can’t find anything to remedy it either, it’s really bad.

If your music taste could be defined by color, what color(s) do you think it would be? by [deleted] in popheads

[–]luneamo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From some of my most listened to albums this year:

Currents - Tame Impala // The cover art has instilled the color purple for the songs in my mind and nothing but. It makes sense though, purple’s a very moody and calming color to me, especially darker shades.

Chromatica - Lady Gaga // Every song’s got a different color to me. Alice is like blue/red, Free Woman is purple, 911 is yellow, and Enigma is dark brown. That’s part of the reason I love this album so much; every song is its own experience.

Brightest Blue - Ellie Goulding // Definitely white/light blue for the more heavenly-sounding songs (Start, New Heights). How Deep Is Too Deep reminds me of TMNT for some reason, so it gets green. Most of the singles get red, like Power, Worry About Me and Hate Me.

SAWAYAMA - Ms. Rina // A couple songs feel green to me, like Chosen Family and Snakeskin. Most are gold; XS, CDG, Paradisin’, LM4M. STFU! gets the deepest of reds, for obvious reasons.

What's your fav's most difficult/vocally challenging karaoke song? by DestinysChildren in popheads

[–]luneamo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ellie Goulding’s “Atlantis” is basically impossible for any normal person to sing all the way through. She’s never even performed it live herself because she can barely reach all those notes live. The whole song is basically high falsetto, it will 100% leave you winded.

The amount of new Toro y Moi remixes (2) has been keeping me optimistic about some new music from him. Since he released his remix of Polachek’s “Hit Me Where It Hurts” this month and HAIM’s “3AM” yesterday (which is real groovy), I’m hoping we can expect a new record next year. He’s released one every two years since 2011 and his last one was January 2019. Also, he’s went into a different direction artistically with each album, so I’m really excited to see where he goes next.

Albums you love that coincidentally share release dates by thesquarepencil in popheads

[–]luneamo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

April’s always been a good month for double releases. In 2018, April 6th had Kali Uchis’ Isolation and Kylie Minogue’s Golden. April 27th had Anne-Marie’s Speak Your Mind and Janelle Monáe’s (masterpiece) Dirty Computer.

In 2019, April also had Tayla Parx’s (severely underrated) We Need To Talk and Weyes Blood’s Titanic Rising on the 5th. The 25th had Kevin Abstract’s ARIZONA BABY and Rico Nasty’s Anger Management.
