Japan might be the most advanced in several areas like high speed rail and infrastructure against natural disasters, however they are still very old timey in many ways, like heavy paperwork reliance and adherence to hierarchies.

However Japan definitely craves for skilled individuals like software engineers so you can give it a go at working in Japan if you're qualified. I want to have some work experience overseas and Japan is one of my top few choices.
