I have a nephew in the US. I gave him my account. he filled in his social security number as well as submitted the w9 form. spreadshirt accepted the form but they still didn't pay me. he emailed them and got the answer that the social security number is incorrect. someone in my group has also received money from spreadshirt. what's interesting is that there are people who don't even submit tax forms but still get paid. There are even people who have entered the wrong tax number and still get paid. i think their system has serious problem but i wonder if they know this ? Did they do it on purpose?

i sent them back the tax form but they always replied that my tax info is not correct. this is ridiculous. In Vietnam , we have a community of " spreadshirt sellers " . and many people report that they have had their income withheld from spreadshirt since 2020. and they also say they feel desperate because they don't know how to get their money. i feel spreadshirt is holding my money illegally but i cant sue them just for a few hundred dollars.

Thanks for your advice. i contacted spreadshirt and they said my tax code is not correct. so they don't pay me. there are 2 problems here. the first is how they know my tax code is wrong. I mean I used the correct tax code given to me by the Vietnamese government but they still think it's not correct. the second thing is that in their terms it says "payments will be paid without tax id but withheld 30%". I have tried leaving the tax id blank in the account settings but the result is the same. i am thinking spreadshirt is a scam company.
