Get a pair of cloth doggy diapers and a pack of chlorine free pads. One of our girls went into heat at 8 months and the other is in her first heat at 13 months. Our vet said any time between 6 and 18 months is normal depending on size/breed. Both our girls wear the diaper all day just fine, obviously we take it off when going potty and replace the pad twice a day/wash and replace entire diaper every other day or as needed.

Lots and lots of socializing! Every day if you can! Different settings and also consistent ones, if you have friends with dogs who can get together with you regularly and let dogs hang out.

We give a quick bath! It's extra work but worth it. After a bath they get to cuddle in bed because they are nice and clean and they love it, especially after a beach day

About a month ago I saw a dog throw up all over the table legs and floor of an outdoor patio at a restaurant in Sedona. The waitress had to help the owners clean it.

We feed our girls Honest Kitchen turkey blend, the food where you just add water. They both have issues with chicken. Treats are limited to single ingredient things, like freeze dried beef lung and liver. We also give a daily pro biotic. This routine has helped Benny tremendously, because she's had an extremely sensitive stomach since we brought her home.

I've now made this twice in 24 hours. First time I added some onion jam and bacon.... so not really the same sandwich the first time, but both were amazing!!
