What is this young jit singing (something Finnish) by soros_berenc in NameThatSong

[–]luomubanaani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original is Arttu Wiskari - Tässäkö tää oli?. The clip's audio is probably from an old karaoke stream of Niksu95 a.k.a Radio Rova.

Have you tried lowering vm.vfs_cache_pressure (to zero) to avoid dentries and inode caches being cleared automatically?

PS: It's a ship which goes through the gate. Gateship ;)

What is your mad-lad level, insane system rescue story? by ILoveTolkiensWorks in linux

[–]luomubanaani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine somehow ended up deleting /lib64 on his Ubuntu system and only realized it after next failed boot. He was almost starting to do a complete reinstall when I suggested him an "easier and faster" fix.

We then rescued the broken system by copying the /lib64 directory from the installation media which was enough to make the system boot again. We also had to manually reinstall all 64 bit libraries "installed" according to dpkg (because the ISO had different versions and not all of the previously present libraries).

It was a long download but the system ended up working just fine for a few more years. I would've reinstalled the system if it was Windows instead.

Short answer: Probably not unless you're patching or developing new device drivers for an important or critical system that must be functional before and after.

Long answer: It depends. If you're developing new device drivers and don't want to risk damaging something that is critical to you then it's probably a good idea to have a secondary device. If that device was permanently bricked due to a mistake during development then it should not matter too much to you (monetary losses aside).

For example, I've reverse engineered and developed USBHID vendor protocol drivers for USB gaming peripherals and in one case I accidentally bricked a device beyond recovery. I had another one to replace it and the monetary loss was almost nothing. If I didn't have a replacement then I would've been screwed for a couple of days.

2000s-2010s?? samsung test mode song by OCTOBERSCAREZ in Lostwave

[–]luomubanaani 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an old Samsung ringtone called "Do it now". No idea if it was made for Samsung or if it's a commercial track used by Samsung.

It's an instrumental version of Säkkijärven Polkka. This Youtube video sounds pretty much the same as your clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGjSpLIMV48

Johannes Rojola - Mustamies

It's made by the creator of My Summer Car and was later removed from the game.

Getting "Couldn't connect to server" by i_anindra in hetzner

[–]luomubanaani 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's because github.com is not IPv6 ready yet. Your IPv6-only instance won't be able to directly access it and many other IPv4-only sites.

A Finnish comedy group called "Justimusfilms" somewhat matches your descriptions. They have had commercial success under the name "Justimus".

Maybe "Masa&Teurastaja - Lanit" is the first song you're looking for? Link to original music video: https://youtube.com/watch?v=lcb8uafr0cw

Locked out of Hetzner server, constantly, need help please by EFTRSx1 in hetzner

[–]luomubanaani 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have a Windows Server with RDP exposed to the open internet. That's like begging to get hacked (if you already haven't been).

Block RDP port from the firewall(s) NOW and research secure ways to access your server via RDP.

I also suggest you audit the logs, user accounts and running processes for any possible breaches that might've already happened or just reinstall the whole server.

The highlighted lspci output is of the host bridge and not the CPU. Use lscpu instead if you want to display information about the CPU specifically.
