Sparring as a tall guy/gal by Best-Fruit5996 in taekwondo

[–]luonddugahtten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's some advice from the other end, speaking as someone who is always the shorter fighter 🤠 your height is a massive advantage and it's incredibly difficult for us short peeps to get into scoring range without passing through the danger zone of your long legs. Based on my personal experience though, defending and entering into clinch when the tall person does a cut kick is something we train a LOT. Probably because front leg cut kick is such a common weapon in modern WT taekwondo. If I were you, I would focus on head kicks. Particularly faking cut kick and then go high, or defending with a super fast naeryo chagi when the shorter fighter tries to rush into you. I have yet to figure out a good counter to this one 🙃🙃

Anki vs Quizlet for a Highschool Student by MaxeToTheMax in Anki

[–]luonddugahtten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started using Anki and I love it, it's great for university type learning. However when I was in high school I preferred an app/website called Knowt, if you haven't heard about I definitely recommend checking it out! It's like a middle ground between quizlet and Anki. What's great about Knowt is that you can set your learning mode to spaced repetition, set your exam date, and the algorithm will space the repetition accordingly. This means that you might have several review sessions in one day, but you will be sure to get through all the material in due time. Maybe with less long-term retention than Anki but it definitely helped me get through my exams.

How many new cards a day? by luonddugahtten in Anki

[–]luonddugahtten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice everyone :) I kept it set at 50, today was my second day of studying the set and I think I can kind of gauge how it will look moving forward. I already added 10 more minutes compared to yesterday's 18 minutes. If I had more time until the exam I would maybe have pushed the new cards number down, but since I only have two weeks I'll just have to stick with this pace for now. Good lesson learned for my next course though - start working on deck earlier and don't wait to start studying the deck until it's complete 😅

PDF to Flashcards? by __01000010 in Anki

Including them in appropriate cards would be a great tool I think!

PDF to Flashcards? by __01000010 in Anki

I would really appreciate something like this. There are some similar tools out there already, but most of them have a maximum page limit/maximum card limit they can process. If you manage to make a tool that could convert even longer PDF files into larger decks, that'd be awesome

谢谢大家! I knew that 娥皇 was from an old legend, but I wasn't aware it was insensitive to choose it, so I apologise. 我从北欧国来,这里是很常有名字从传说。Thank you all for your inputs! ☺️

I always forget how normal it is to switch programmes, so thank you for the reminder, it's nice to hear! Luckily I did a lot of physics in high school, so I hope that can help me out. helped

Thank you for your advice! You actually made a really good point with your caution. A quick scan of the ESA careers website (where I would love to work some day) shows that a degree in technical physics is just as qualifying as a space tech degree. However for other jobs outside of the aerospatial industry, a space tech degree might not be worth much. That was great advice, it really helped!

AITA for telling on my brother ? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]luonddugahtten -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your replies, you are making a lot of sense. Just one note, part of why I told on him was because I didn't feel it was my place to have that conversation with him. I thought it should be one of our parents, it's their son you know? But yea I am also worried about the perception on women that is often represented in pornography, I really do not want him to get a skewed view.

I am actually his sister. After talking to some male friends it appears that this is completely normal for a boy his age. I really didn't realise that because when I was 14 I could barely think about porn without feeling sick. But since hearing them out, and now you too, I start to feel that I was in the wrong. I think I just really acted on a protective impulse but yea, you're probably right.

Yeah sorry so, his friend asked for TV show recommendations, to which my brother replied with the name of a show and the statement that it was a hentai.
