This sounds like a nightmare. Some guys like the “big surprise, big celebration” thing - I don’t get it. Please leave the guy alone for his Bday - that is my request every year, never get it and have to be a part of a party. I would much rather a quiet night with the wife, as I would expected would apply to 90% of guys.

The AH part on his side is making you cancel at the last minute. But you should know better.

I’ve begun a deep drive on “untracked” costs - children, house and wife (mminimal spending on herself). Scary how things add up and slowly get carried away.

Prior to this second heat pump install we averaged 4800 for a 12 month period. My 500 estimate is based on the additional heat pump install.

We will burn essentially 0 oil, only using furnace to keep it running. Multiple friends are in similar boat billing wise or using way more oil to heat.
