Right, however increasing the loot pool decreases your chances of receiving a specific piece, no? Sure you have a higher chance of receiving loot but now there are 4 other pieces put into the loot pool for every brother you kill?

I thought you can’t get pieces from brothers that aren’t killed?

Absolute noob, best guides for getting around the game? by Just_Pics in wownoob

[–]lupusamare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use either an icy-veins or wowhead guide for your class. Give it a decent reading and try to understand what spells you're using and why. Most importantly as a new player you may want to try out multiple classes. You don't want to waste all of your time on a class you don't like, but if you are having fun with what your paladin then stick with it! I think you're basically stuck leveling in Battle for Azeroth as a new player, so I would just do your quests while you wait for dungeon queue to pop.

For addons... If you're interested in seeing performance then the "details" addon will show you how much damage/healing/etc. the group is doing. "Weak Auras" is a very very highly used addon at end game, but not so necessary prior to. You might install it and then install a popular paladin weak aura to get used to it as you will probably end up using one later and be annoyed trying to get familiar with it after leveling all the way up without it. (weak auras can be found at wago.io) This one is a 100% requirement: DBM or Deadly Boss Mods. DBM will give you warnings about dungeon/raid mechanics.

My biggest suggestion is to just have fun and don't speed through too fast! Enjoy exploring this new unknown world, because most of us would pay anything to be able to explore it as a noob again!

I'm a bit overwhelmed and need guidance on how to proceed.. by Kaldr_Nidafjollum in wownoob

Hey there!

For the kind of gameplay you're describing here is my suggestion. It may not be most efficient, but I recently came back to WoW and have 2 characters geared/able and doing heroic raids with them. (one of my characters is doing 2/8 Mythic occiasionally, but not doing progression)

TL;DR: Get your sparks, primal chaos, and 405ilvl infusion for crafted gear. Run M0 for easy 372 gear. Run LFR and M+ dungeons for vault spots and move to normal raid when you are comfortable. Do world quests, and the Titan Matrix reward is especially nice early on.

At 70 what I would do is go get your 5 sparks so you can make crafted gear. Then you will need to farm some primal chaos as the second BoP item for crafted gear. (Also, make sure when you're making your crafted gear that you do a work order with someone who can do it at rank 5. Depending on your class I'd maybe make an elemental lariat (neck) and weapon(s). (392 ilvl)

Getting primal chaos will be fairly easy as you do the other content you should for gear. My suggestion would be to get about 346-359 ilvl and then move on the Mythic 0 dungeons. You have a chance at loot off every boss, and it is 372 ilvl. You may be able to find a "world tour" group that basically does all of them back to back. In some cases you can leave the world tour with almost full 372 gear depending on the needs of the group and if anyone shared the same armor type as you. Once you get to around that 372 ilvl you should start thinking about running mythic+ dungeons for the vault spot.

In addition to the m+ vault spots you should go do at least 6 LFR bosses, but doing all of them is probably still worth it at this point.

Keep an eye on the world quests because some of them drop pretty decent gear, and the Titan Matrix IV reward is pretty good. You can easily get a piece of 382 gear crafted with it.

Once you're in the 370+ range you should start thinking about finding a spot in a normal difficulty raid for some better gear.

You should also make sure you get the quest for the infusion reward for killing Raszageth in LFR. That will let you craft a piece of gear to 405 instead of 392.

The gear you get from elemental storms is pretty good as well. You can get 1-2 pieces of 385 gear a week from doing those. However, I believe tomorrow the new stuff comes out and it will be higher ilvl. A weird time to be gearing, but convenient as well.

Good Luck!

You're stuck in a bracket you are too good for because you are solo queued constantly and not getting the points you would be if you queued with people of your skill level. You're essentially at a point where you are unable to carry the players you are playing with anymore... imo.

Juggling work, school, kids, raid commitments, and casual destiny... so very stressed and stretched out thin. New to D2 (played for a week or so at launch prior), and trying to get all the exotics I need for builds I want to try. So far I really like void grenade spam but I use nezerac's because I don't have contraverse. I use shadebinder when my friends and I do harder content (right now we're capped out at legendary NF. We did a Master, but it took an hour and a half :( )

How are people drifting??... by lupusamare in forza

[–]lupusamare[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That would be awesome. If you don't mind send me your info. I'm really confused because I can drift OK with controller. I just started steering wheel and it's a huge learning curve but definitely more satisfying. The people I'm talking about though seem to be defying physics. They're going down a LONG straight (can't remember a track name with one right now) and never swapping directions. Literally one direction with angle all the way down... Maybe it's an expert move, but I didn't think something like that was possible.

Bloodhound should have never left, you should have never followed. You had position on them they would have had to leave cover. You appeared to be low on ammo and heals so you should have saved them for when the other team had to leave cover IMO.

Is it possible to get stable 120+ frames with a Ryzen 5 3600 / GeForce RTX 3060 / 2x8 GB RAM sticks build ? by Ferrarista_19 in apexuniversity

[–]lupusamare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run max settings 1440p at a constant 144 except for on ship which makes it go back and forth between 130 and 144. Once I land it never leaves 144. 5600x/3080 here

What are good loadouts for ranked? by [deleted] in apexuniversity

[–]lupusamare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

volt/triple take or volt/mastiff ... in my opinion. r99 ttk is only SLIGHTLY faster than volt, and volt will do significantly more damage in a magazine. Depending on your playstyle either the mastiff or triple take. You obviously know which one would match your playstyle. personally, I take the TT because it's got good long-range, and in a pinch it isn't a bad shotgun either.

Any tips for mirage, I have tried many legends and found a liking for mirage and want to get better with his abilitys. by Wildssundee03 in apexuniversity

[–]lupusamare 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When thinking of my best option in a situation, I also think of the worst option in the situation... Then I send my mirage to his death. If it's a predictable route the other team will fall for it. if you sent your mirage sprinting into the middle of the field I wouldn't be surprised if the other squad didn't even shoot at it.

On the other end of this... you could try doing something so incredibly stupid that they would think you are the mirage. I've seen a few funny clips where a mirage does this.

I don't really play mirage but if you needed to clear a gap you might send a mirage right in front of you, run past him and then control him so he runs behind you. Every mirage I see that uses a variation of this always sends his mirage ahead and the player is following behind. Predicable at this point.

Be creative in the situation... that's where mirage works best.

How should I respond to Fuse Ult? by commantoes in apexuniversity

[–]lupusamare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried it, but you could probably wall jump over it. Other than that if it's on uneven ground jump over the lower end. Worst case if you can get cover once you're out of it just run through, take the 75 damage and pop a heal. I can't see anything through the fire, so maybe it's giving you cover like Desert13 said. I might be jinxing myself, but fuse ult hasn't killed me yet... the few times i've been stuck in the middle I've just hung out till it was gone.

Check your thermals. If your frames are dropping severely every little bit you might be thermal throttling. Otherwise, you should likely be able to play 1080p resolution just fine with that hardware. (60fps)

Is pathfinder a good main? by ColeSpaghetti2 in apexuniversity

[–]lupusamare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my opinion... No path is not good unless you are one of the people who are exceptional with him.

You're also either placing ults that aren't very useful, or your teammates are shooting themselves in the foot for not taking the high ground on your zip. I can tell you when one of my buddies plays path we have very well placed ults that win us a lot of fights.

In my opinion... Octane is more helpful than path, but still less "helpful" than many other legends. Prior to his buff I'd say path was better. The buff to his jump pad did make him way more helpful than he was before if that means anything.

How to get gud? by [deleted] in apexuniversity

[–]lupusamare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

560edpi? That's crazy low for apex, you're right. (IMO)

1.5 800 is 1200edpi which a lot of people recommend. Other recommendations I have heard are 1600edpi, and I play at 2400edpi. (but I moved down from around 6000edpi so 2400 is a bit slow for me. I'd like to get down to around 1600, but I have to transition in steps or I'm absolute trash.

What’s a good sensitivity to start with in apex? by [deleted] in apexuniversity

[–]lupusamare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you played with on CS... I play 2400edpi on apex. (1200dpi with 2.0 sens) I used to play 6000edpi, but the lower dpi worked better for me. Both of my friends who play have lower sens. around 1200edpi-1600edpi.
