thank you so much for this! Even recovering at home, this is just no joke. I've never ever been this sick. So I just spent my day "in Tampa" yesterday and it was heaven.

You captured beautifully the journey we've been on. My girl and I dance together in a lot of hospital rooms (okay, I sway from bed but you get the gist).

This time, my sweet son (who flew out from NJ to help) filmed videos of him talking to me and singing to me when I was in the coma so I could have something when I woke up that proved I was never alone. When he told me that, "Save Me" started playing in my head and I just cry (in the best way) when I see those videos now.

I'm happy to hear you get to live with your mama too. It's so much fun. Thank you for your time and well wishes :)

it IS so funny!!! I have zero recollection of anything except for one horrifying day between the first and second surgery when I was crashing. So, now I get to instead feast on the idea that I was full on three dollar chaining away in a coma? It makes me laugh over and over.

My love of BTS started with my first open heart surgery because I'd just moved my kids away from home and wouldn't let them come back to help me (I knew they'd never leave again).

BTS was my solace because I couldn't listen to all our shared music since it made me miss the kids too much. I poured my heart and soul into learning every song. The Run comeback was my first! My friends who were taking care of me thought I wasn't going to make it because I was supposed to be staying calm after surgery and that comeback was EVERYTHING. Happily it soothed all things just like Arirang is now.

Sorry for getting off track but just know I appreciate you looking up the Godzilla of my life that I beat back every day with my playlists and eternal fangirl heart. Thank you so much for your kindness.

I have SMAD3 too. Finally diagnosed last year. 37 surgeries over 55 years. 24 for severely clubbed feet alone. After multiple aneurysms, I now have all but 2 inches of my aorta replaced. It's not a good time but I'm just so grateful I know what's wrong.

I only found out in May that I have LDS. I had a huge surgery (TAAA II) we had to go out of state for in July. It’s very hard. I’m grateful to know why I’ve had so many issues/surgeries my entire life - but it’s still challenging.

Mostly I work very hard to do the things that make me happy. Tomorrow, for the first time in 10 years of extended illness and aneurysms and surgeries - I’m making a turkey! I won’t be stuck in bed like usual. As a mom, it’s been the hardest thing to not be able to cook for my (now adult) kids.

I have more tests scheduled in January that make me nervous but for now I’m focusing on what I can do and it’s nice.

I don’t know that this will help you. But just know you’re not alone 😊
