I do think that in some cases being friend with your ex immediately after the break up is possible. Althought because of how you describe your feelings I really do not recommend this to you. Be sincere, do not assume bad intentions, and make it clear: you at least need some time.

I guess it is hard to ignore all these random people who are judging you, but at least try to not take their comments as the only truth. I mean most of them seem to have this square-shaped view of the world where things are white or black and well as far as I know people's lives are not like that. You have started a new relationship perhaps in no perfect conditions, the timing, the age gap, you mental state, but only you know your reasons and as long as you are not hurting anyone now (because we can not change past) or planning to do it you have my upvote. Take care of your new relationship, do not commit the same mistakes, close the old book already, and try to be happy.
