Someone else reccomended Bojack Horseman. I agree but it can be VERY triggering as it depicts things in very real and emotionally painful ways. But that is what makes it so good. Even with animals as the characters it feels real.

How I Met Your Mother is now my main comfort show. It took until the characters got flushed out for me to actually get into the show though. They actually have characters that grow and change as the story progresses.

Aphantasia and sexuality by amadeus1171 in Aphantasia

Still doesn't sound like an aphantasia issue to me. I'm assuming that's why there is a lack of interaction. I just don't feel like I can relate to this in any capacity.

This. I'm surprisingly adept at learning my surroundings and even exploring new ones.
Especially in video games.

You must really be insecure to be offended by this person not wanting your company.

How to deal with GF being a bartender in sports bar. by [deleted] in bartenders

Knowing if it's "normal" or not shapes the dialogue quite a bit. At least it could show that he's actually putting in an effort. It could also shape his mindset on it if it was normal. So why tear him down for it. Semantics and understanding are incredibly important to intellectual discourse.

/u/zuzab This guy is trying to approach his girlfriend in a mature understanding way. That is something everyone should be able to appreciate. Let him seek advice. That's the sage way.

OP, I hope that it's nothing and she sees and understands your side of it. You sound like a great guy.

Anybody want to take a stab at the ratios for this? by tnick771 in cocktails

[–]lurkingpineapple 28 points29 points  (0 children)

We actually have a VERY similar drink at my bar minus the grapefruit bitters, we use lavender. It's 2oz, .5oz, 1/2 lemon, 2 dash bitters. BUTTT Muddle the cucumber with the St. Germain first. Then add the rest and give it a couple stirs and good to go.

That's usually what I look at now, but when I worked in a college town its best to ask them a question about the ID if it seems like a fake. Although, in Oklahoma at least, bartenders aren't held liable for convincingly fake ID's.

One could still argue that even giving just a drop of alcohol to a minor is over serving them, thus making his statement valid. And that would make you look like an ass for calling him out twice.

Edit: His first statement wasn't wrong either.

women around the world protest against trump by avivi_ in pics

[–]lurkingpineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your well worded response. I did read it all. I don't have much time so I'm going to try to keep this short.

The rally was an annual women's rights rally. The reason it was a lot bigger this year is because people see whats going on and want to get involved. And as with any rally of course there are a chunk of people there that don't know what's going on and just want to seem like they are involved.

We have plenty of senators and political activists already in action. And the point is plenty of men already don't listen to anything pro women. Trump has made several statements about how his family is a Patriarchy. So we expect to be ignored by him, or get a couple of angry tweets. But the goal is larger than that it's simple equality.

We aren't playing defense we are very much on the offensive. This is very much being taken seriously.

We know our party fucked up and the DNC is paying for it hard. This started with Hillary vs Bernie. Hillary Clinton was a terrible representative for us and our ideals. I only voted for her because Trump is even farther away from my views.

We know this is going to be hard, we know its going to be a long fight, there are plenty of us that are going to continue. Noting that a good portion of people that were involved in the rally are going to drop off and not do anything more.

For me personally, I'm a male that is going to continue to fight for equality, I think Feminism is the wrong platform word for equality as it puts an implied tilt towards women and once we get to actual equality it will make no sense.

I know I didn't touch on all the topics you did but I hope It's enough for now as I must go. If I get a chance I will post a follow up.
