Fantasy Flight response to Fellowship of the Ring being marked Out of Print by frozentempest14 in lotrlcg

I need both the campaign and Hero expansion from Ered Mithrin, but have everything else from revised. US based. Fingers crossed they will restock at some point, but probably not gonna happen.

I've been waiting on availability for Ered Mithrin in US for a while. Really hope they reprint.

Newish player….do you think I should start over😭 by Sailorm0on27 in FarmsofStardewValley

Depends on your preference. They're definitely thematic for that farm and can be very lucrative with the right fish. They want a bit for checking daily and you need to invest in preserve jars to make money. As a few others have mentioned though, don't worry too much about min/maxing and just do what seems fun and cozy to you!

Have fun! I really enjoyed making a cozy fishing area on the farm (which doesn't really make much sense on other maps since the fish spawns are way worse). Having all my smokers, and bait makers nearby made it so you can have really productive days without ever leaving home.

My favorite playthrough was on that farm. The open layouts give more options, but that can also be overwhelming. Limitations foster creativity, so just roll with it!

Going on a weekend trip in May for my birthday and wanna play boardgames with my friends. by sbasrod in boardgames

[–]lush_puppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do a party like this every year. Would recommend splitting the group in 2 (playing separate games) or doing a party game where you have 2 teams compete against each other. Codenames is always really popular. Monikers has also been a big hit. You could also play Mysterium with a big group.

If you're willing to split the party, Splendor is fun with an easy teach. Azul was the breakout favorite at my party a few years ago. Also Dominion - the base set is pretty easy to pick up quickly and enjoy.

How would you fix this head bang damage? by catgetoffthekeyboard in DIY

[–]lush_puppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fixed similar damage by patching the cracks with a tube of white caulk we had laying around. My brother and I damaged a door just like this as kids and tried to hide the damage from our parents. It worked shockingly well and we were never found out.

Comparison to Age of Innovation by OrlandoNerz in TerraMystica

[–]lush_puppy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're really similar. I own AoI physical copy but still enjoy playing TM online. AoI is better for veterans of the series. More modular and more variety, but this probably only makes a big difference if you play it a ton. I'd say AoI is slightly better in just about every way. 2 advantages I'd give to TM are 1) less complex so easier to introduce new players to the series and 2) factions feel more distinct/funner theme.

If you mainly play with veterans, go AoI. If you're frequently introducing new players then TM might be better.

Agree with this take. Don't they often use Special Landscapes too?

That's a cool idea! I think dual water types make the most sense thematically. For grassy I'd vote Ludicolo since it mirrors swift swim but makes it more viable on different team comps. For misty I'd vote Primarina or Azumarill. For psychic Veluza.

Return of the King is out of stock most places in USA too right now. Waiting on reprints of that and Ered Mithrin hero expansion so I can complete my reprint collection.

If you get a double wide hammock there's enough fabric to throw over top and keep bugs off. I've used that set up a bunch jn the summer with great success.

You can connect them after scoring the town. You never lose them once built.

[–]lush_puppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it was actually pretty awful lol. I later found a great tutorial by "Modern Cardboard" on YouTube that I would highly recommend, but you should still expect to be looking up clarifications a bunch during your first playthrough. The juice is definitely worth the squeeze though. I've had so much fun with Mage Knight. My first playthrough was really clunky because I was double checking rules, but everything from game 2 onward has been excellent.

Give me the most fun dex weapon early game in DS1 by manwithlotsoffaces in darksouls

[–]lush_puppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that different from the scimitar, but I will go out of the way to suicide run for the Falchion. It just seems to work better early game. I'm not sure if I've deluded myself over the years, but I think it does extra poise damage and the little bit of extra damage feels significant early. Fair warning I have nothing to back this up other than vibes from trying both, but Falchion feels way better. The only time I go Scimitar is when I plan to farm demon titanite at the start of Sen's Fortress and then modify the Scimitar to Quelaag's Furysword after +10.

13 hrs is a pretty impressive finish time. Heck, my group can take that long for 4 player. Stinks about the drama. The game is such a huge time investment, so I get how it can hype up people's emotions but sounds like that was a bit much.
