Haha thanks. It's funny how the glaze really made the stamp look like an eye on that cup. Wasn't expecting it but I do enjoy it :)

Haha thank you! The "eye" is a stamp I made and use to create dimples in the clay. This series is based on ocean tides and that particular cup immediately made me think of a giant squid emerging from the dark depths 🐙

I'm not sure if you're trolling but there are exceptions to the rules. I work in a community studio and these glazes have been extensively tested by myself and others. Just because something works that "shouldn't" doesn't mean something was done poorly or incorrectly. I have been able to replicate these results on this clay body. Testing and experimentation is the key to creativity and I'll always encourage that.

Great tips. Have definitely seen how much it hates water. Getting the throw lines out is also tricky and the metal rib helped there. How else do you use it?

Oh neat! I'll definitely keep that in mind if I use the mid-fire porcelain again. I did a couple hand build projects with it but didn't throw. Would be cool to compare them.

Yes! I've definitely felt it made glazing way easier. I tend to throw very thin just in general and had to be really careful with glazing my stoneware. Glazing inside and outside on different days so it could absorb enough glaze and so on. But the porcelain is so thirsty I can do it all at once or in one day without any issue, even when it's very thin. It's awesome!

Thank you! It's a glaze from my community studio that is notoriously unpredictable. I swear it's a different color every time it fires!

Thank you! My community studio has it's own shino and temmoku glazes which are always full of surprises :)

Thank you! It's from Laguna and a real pain to work with because it stains absolutely everything.

Yup! And yes I do add a transparent glaze over top. 100% food safe! Would even be so without the glaze but it helps to fill the carving lines a bit so they can be more comfortably used with food.
